After their debut release album as a duo, Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans return with another full-length on New York City's DFA. For the record the pair have enlisted long-time collaborator and frequent stage member Bobby Birdman to create another collection of avant-garde pop. To wit, first single "Dystopia (The Earth is on Fire)," is reportedly based on the group's reaction to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the press release for the album states that "YACHT asserts that the future is a blank slate upon which anything can be imposed... Shangri-La argues that 'Paradise is kinetic potential, a latency within us that has been eaten alive by time.'"
