Trance clubs in Jakarta & Bali

Hello,

Like the subject says, I'm wondering what you guys/gals recommend for good trance clubs in Jakarta and Bali. I'm heading down there next month so I would appreciate any input. I prefer trance - to give you an idea, I like George Acosta, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Blank & Jones, etc.

The last time I was in Jakarta was in late 2004 and I had checked out Xlounge/Vertigo, Embassy, Centro, Club Monaco, and Manna House. My favorite out of that bunch was Centro although to be honest I don't remember much about Embassy's music but I remembered I did like it there as well. I just remembered having much more fun way back in 2001 at Musro when trance was more popular. Centro still pretty good? What about Vertigo and Embassy?

I've heard some good things about X2 but everyone seems to say it's way too crowded. Also what's the deal with reservations at clubs? What's the minimum in order to reserve a table at most clubs? I'll give them a ring when I'm down there but if you guys know, it would be great. I imagine we would mostly be out dancing but it would be nice to get a table to get the drink on.

Thanks for any input!

I am taking liberty in saying that "the trance club of Jakarta" is Wonderbar, which is located at the basement of Embassy. An entry at Embassy will also provide you with entry to Wonderbar. There are also smaller clubs in kemang area who regularly have trance nights, such as The Brains, JK7, Bros Lounge etc. But I suggest you check out the calendar drop-option at the top of this page to have a closer look at future events as most trance DJs in Jakarta are not resident DJs in any particular club, so it's worth checking the locations of future trance events.

Re:reservation, you need to check in with each club, but it is usually 1 million rups upwards, and that counts towards drinks.

Right on, thanks for the heads up Ian, I'll be sure to check it out. Can't wait!
