Major Lazer

AT

TURN ON PLASTIC STAGE

Major Lazer is a collaborative musical project from DJ/Producers Diplo and Switch.

Major Lazer is a fictional cartoon character,[1] who (according to press releases) fought as a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in a secret zombie war in 1984.[2] He fights vampires and various monsters, parties hard, and has a rocket-powered hoverboard.
Made up of DJs Diplo and Switch, the two were introduced after working with M.I.A.. The duo's first album, Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do was released on June 16, 2009 on Downtown Records. It was recorded in Jamaica at Tuff Gong Studios.[3] Vocalists such as Santigold, Vybz Kartel, Ward 21, Busy Signal, Nina Sky, Amanda Blank, Mr. Vegas, Turbulence, Mapei, T.O.K, Prince Zimboo, Leftside and others contribute guest vocals to the album, as well as additional production from Afro Jack and Crookers. [4] This is the first release to come out of the label partnership between Downtown Records and Diplo's label Mad Decent. [5] Major Lazer ended a US tour last summer.[6] The album's first single was "Hold the Line", the video for which, directed by Ferry Gouw, was nominated for a MTV Video Award in the Breakthrough Video category. The track "Zumbi" has a music video that features comedian Andy Milonakis.[7] Music videos for the songs "Pon de Floor" and "Keep It Going Louder" were both directed by Eric Wareheim. Major Lazer performed at the Coachella Music Festival in April 2010.[8]
According to the current issue of Rolling Stone; there is an article about Major Lazer's live shows; Switch was sick and went home to L.A. to work on their sophmore project. Other sources that there is a new album in the works is in the 1103 issue, in the article about Diplo, they are working on songs with Lykke Li and Santigold. Also, the Mad Decent website has said something about an EP. And there is a leak called "Sound Of Siren" which features M.I.A. and Busy Signal.

CHOCOLATE PUMA

AT

I LOVE HOUSE STAGE

Many beautiful years have past between their first monster hit Give It Up and now. Born as first generation house producers, a complete musical revolution has taken place right in front of Zki & Dobres eyes: From the first simple sampler, to a complete digital studio built into a laptop.

DJ Zki & Dobre; who are they and what are they up to? Two simple but pressing questions which are not easy to answer. The Dutch producers Zki & Dobre- respectively René ter Horst and Gaston Steenkist are responsible for so many productions in all kinds of styles under so many different names that they are extremely difficult to categorize.

Their studio remains their favorite place, but as DJ's, the clubs is where their music is being tested and where their music should be played out loud! Great examples are I Wanna Be U (2001), A Star Is Born (2003) and Always And Forever (2006) which they released under their alter ego Chocolate Puma.

Lets go back in time a little. For sure a special mission from outer space has helped faith a little to ensure that these two all-round musical guys bumped into each other in the 90s.
