Traktor 2 diumumkan

Setelah nungguin sekian lama, akhirnya software update paling ditunggu keluar juga. Traktor dari Native Instruments versi teranyar akhirnya diumumkan juga. Sofware edisi ke 2 ini di rencanakan hadir pada tanggal 1 April 2011. Fitur baru antara lain adalah waveforms yang beda, multi channel support, dan kemampuan untuk mengolah 16 loops.

There's only so many teasers that a tech hungry DJ world can take. Once the cat was out of the bag, the wait for Native Instruments' Traktor Pro 2 has been going on longer than many can bear. But in some stroke of logistical magic (probably Messe looming and wanting to get in first before the usual techstorm), NI have got TP2 out to the masses today. It's available in stores now, for download and in demo form too.

There's nothing new here - just a more compact version of what we've seen before:
New generation of TRAKTOR now available in stores worldwide!

Berlin, March 30th, 2011 – Native Instruments today announced that the TRAKTOR 2 generation is now available in stores worldwide.

The new TRAKTOR generation establishes the next level of versatility and ease-of-use with its TRAKTOR PRO 2 software and TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO  2 digital vinyl system as well as its two-deck DUO versions. With a wide range of new software features, including "TruWave" waveform displays, "SoftSync" track synchronisation, powerful sample decks and more, the TRAKTOR 2 generation gives DJs even more creative possibilities. With the new TRAKTOR AUDIO 6 and TRAKTOR AUDIO 10, the second generation of Native Instruments' acclaimed DJ interface range offers expanded connectivity and additional features for club use – both as the hardware centerpieces of the new TRAKTOR SCRATCH generation and as highly versatile audio interfaces for any DJ or music production software.

For the TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 system, the new TRAKTOR PRO 2 software replaces the originally included TRAKTOR PRO S4 version. All KONTROL S4 owners will receive a download upgrade free of charge.

Twitter has been busy with people bragging about having it (yes including me), some saying it's the second coming, and others have reported bugs already. All this is to be expected, and I imagine that more videos, praise and hate will follow - t'is the way of Traktor releases. But what is clear is that NI are clawing back the yawning market share lead that Serato have. And using top notch scratch DJs like Shiftee, Craze, Rafik, Klever and of course Qbert directly attacks the biggest market and where Serato's strong market share resides.

But anyway, I'm simply spelling out what is obvious to anyone. We have our review copies installed and it'll get the full treatment in due course. In the meantime, I'd be really chuffed if you'd download the demo version, give it a go and report back. Be warned - the servers are swamped right now, so be patient.

Native Instruments do seem to have the lockdown on getting scratch giants to bust a few moves in the name of Traktor promotion. With Klever, Craze, Shiftee and Rafik all happy to put their names behind products like Maschine, the X1 and especially Traktor Scratch Pro, there is only one direction to go, and that is up - and they don't get more up than Qbert.

Native Instruments Maschine is used as a MIDI controller for Traktor. All Traktor generation 2 products like Traktor Scratch Pro 2 or its included Traktor Audio 10 interface (also available separately) will hit stores worldwide on April 1st.

You'll also notice that Skratchy Seal now has his very own digital vinyl. One side is a selection of your favourite skip-proof sounds, while the other is timecode. And to round off the package, you'll get a Traktor Butter rug. Quantities are extremely limited so get your orders in quick. I know I will be.

You'll probably remember a video a short time ago where Qbert discussed the merits of Traktor vs Scratch Live, and much to the annoyance of the Serato forum seemed to come down eversoslightly in favour of Traktor Scratch, if only from a scratch performance specific point of view. And from Qbert's pretty basic needs, it's that kind of detail that matters, and I guess that's why he's hanging his hat on the Traktor Scratch brand, even if it does feel like he's hedging his bets a little and not quite giving 100% endorsement.

Whether that's enough to sway DJ Joe Public to the Traktor fold remains to be seen. But if recent public opinion is anything to go by, the tides are changing a little, and getting the universally acknowledged scratch icon in your camp can only help.

bisa kok bro, kemaren gw beli timecode vinyl lewat website NI juga kaya gitu juga, di decline (tapi kata banknya transaksinya berhasil) dan setelah lapor ama NI trus verifikasi data abis itu dikirim kok paketnya..
kemaren gw browse forumnya kayanya ada beberapa yg masalah ama beli OL, kata moderatornya harus nunggu bentar soalnya lagi banyak banget yg belanja sama mereka...... haizzzz

hahaha cd no fun lah haha.. kalo beli vinyl beneran rasanya gak masuk akal ada yg tinggal download $2 harus beli $20 + ongkir + resiko rusak + resiko bea cukai hahahahaha..

paling pas sih timecode vinyl, you get the best of both worlds imo
