The ROKR E8 from Motorola has become the most talked about gadget, even though it hasn't been launched so far. Announced in the end quarter of last year, the handset will soon hit the market place. With dimensions of 115 mm x 53 mm x 10.6 mm and a weight of just 100 g, the handset would be a convenient and light gadget to be carried in your purse, pocket or hands.

The Motorola ROKR E8 is going to be another star in the ROKR range of phones from Motorola, as the phone is said to posses a stunning look and a TFT screen that's capable of showing 256,000 colours and has the resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Besides the looks, the handset has got a dynamic memory. Apart from the internal memory of 2GB, external memory of upto 4GB is also there so you don't have to worry about the memory of your phone. You can easily roam across the world as the handset automatically switches between GSM Quad 950, 1800, 850, and 1900 modes.

Using this handset is really enjoyable for those who love music, games, and capturing shots that attract them. The ROKR comes with a 1600x1200 pixel camera that lets you capture your favourite shots or record the desired footage. You can store the video for later viewing or sharing with others. Besides the camera feature, you have the FM radio and music player that let you enjoy listening to your favourite music channel and favourite music whenever you wish to. The games that come pre-installed let you have fun while you are out or sitting idle at home.

Now you don't need to worry about making calls every time you wish to contact your family, friends or colleagues as the messaging service (that includes the MMS, SMS, IM, and email) incorporated in this gadget lets you stay connected to others without actually requiring to make a call. This Bluetooth enabled phone provides you with easy connectivity to other Bluetooth compatible devices. The handset also supports EDGE, GPRS, HSCSD, Infrared, and USB connectivity. Besides this, you can stay connected to the web while on the move as this gadget comes with WAP internet browser.

The handset has got all the features that can be looked for in a latest mobile handset. It's got a huge memory, smart casing, optimum performance output and what not.

keypadnya bisa ganti2 sesuai fungsinya, kalo jadi mp3 player dia nyalanya cuman play pause previous n next doang.. kalo lagi jadi henfon, ya tuts2 nomor, kalo video/camera keypadnya berubah jadi tombol capture sama zoom..

Di luar kemampuan musiknya, handphone dengan desain sexy-stylish ini memang ditakdirkan untuk Anda yang suka pamer. Musik tentu saja menjadi tema utama yang diusung oleh Rokr E8, tetapi kelebihannya bukan di situ saja. Dalam keadaan stand-by, keypad-nya tersembunyi dibawah permukaan badan ponsel. Sebenarnya bukan tersembunyi sih, keypad-nya memang tidak ada. Nah lo? Kok bisa? Ya bisa lah, masa ya bisa dong. Rahasianya, sebagai pengganti sistem tombol, Rokr E8 menggunakan teknologi layar sentuh. Setiap Anda memencet tombol virtual tersebut, area yang tersentuh akan bergetar. Jadi sekakan-akan Anda memencet tombol beneran, padahal cuma layar sentuh. Teknologi ini namanya Haptic Touch Pad dan fitur ini baru ada pertama kali di Rokr E8, RAZR2V V8, dan LG Voyager.

Dengan fitur ModeShift, tampilan ponsel bisa berganti-ganti. Ketika Anda menggunakan Rokr E8 sebagai ponsel, pemutar musik, atau kamera, maka backlight dari layar sentuhnya akan berganti dengan tombol yang relevan dengan masing-masing fungsi tersebut. Misalnya ketika dalam mode telepon, layar sentuhnya akan menambilkan keypad numerik. Lalu ketika memasuki mode pemutar musik, tampilan numeriknya akan berganti dengan menu layaknya iPod. Omong-omong soal iPod, Rokr E8 memiliki sistem navigasi FastScroll yang mirip dengan sistem Clik Wheel pada iPod. Cukup sentuhkan jempol Anda pada FastCroll dalam gerakan memutar, maka Anda bisa scrolling untuk menemukan file musik yang ingin anda dengarkan dengan super cepat. Untuk memorinya sendiri, Rokr E8 memiliki kapasitas memori internal sebesar 2Gb. Kalau sekiranya 2Gb masih kurang cukup untuk menampung koleksi musik Anda, Slot Micro SD-nya masih bisa menampung hingga 4Gb lagi.

Selain bisa mendengarkan musik melalui headphone standar 3.5 mm, Rokr E8 juga bisa streaming audio via A2DP. Format yang didukungnya juga cukup beragam, mulai dari MIDI, MP3, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC+, WMA, WAV, AMR-NB, hingga Real Audio (RA) v10. Untuk urusan jeprat-jepret, ponsel dengan desain candy bar ini memiliki kamera 2 megapixel, namun sayangnya tanpa autofocus dan flash. Kalau mau browsing, meski pun memiliki kemampuan untuk menampilkan halaman full HTML, sepertinya Anda harus puas dengan koneksi GPRS dan EDGE saja karena Rokr E8 tidak mendukung jaringan 3G. Sayang sekali yah, padahal si sexy ini pantas mendapatkan lebih. Tapi koneksi 3G masih mahal, dan kalau mau internetan kan masih bisa pake laptop, jadi kekurangan ini bukanlah suatu cela. Wong ini ponsel musik kok, bukan ponsel bisnis. (bbl)

keren..sayang aja ngga 3G, ROKR E8 juga gak mendukung SDHC untuk memori tambahan yang lebih besar kapasitasnya....kameranya berkekuatan 2 megapixel tanpa autofocus maupun flash....tergantung kebutuhan si ya...lo mu bila ya bim...??hehehe...

mmm bagus sih, cuma sayang kamera megapiksel tanpa flash dan autofokus? mending ga usah pake kamera sekalian.. menurut review, fast scrollnya masih belom berfungsi dengan baik dan touch controlnya kurang responsif (yg jelas yg biasa sms bakalan susah hehehe )
