Craftsmen - Tales From Bosphorus - Casa Del Soul

Introducing The Craftsmen, straight from Istanbul made up of Murad L. producer, Cana Cankaya on vocals and trumpet and Ce, S. producer. With this e.p they have succeded in creating a slice of deep, techie house that is moody and uplifting at the same time. But don't let the deepness fool ya, the pounding bassline and rolling percussion will keep any room on it's toes. Check the flip for the remix from Juke Joint and two trade trick DJ tools.

The Sound Republic - When I Get Paid - Dae

New-school Chi-town crew the SOUND REPUBLIC with another chunk-a-licious EP of quirky jammy jams on Philly's DAE. DAE's WeS! adds a swinging house stomp for a quality tracky groove, while JOHN LARNER gets tweaky and techy for his bubbling bleepy banger. Fellow Chi-towner Chris Grant closes it out with a masterpiece of throwback disco funk. Fans of Fetish and Black Cherry will wannagrab this tasty platter!

John Larner - The Funky Hand Ep/ Chuck Daniels Rmx - Guesthouse Music

New 12 from John Larner on the Guest House imprint. "Funky Hand" combines dubby stabs with driving peaktime beats and a great jazzy drop for some swingin', low-slung filtered house grooves. "Goin' Down" centers on a meaty bassline, with shuffling house beats, stellar guitar riffs, and swirling synths helping to flesh out this tracky house pleaser. On the flip, Chuck Daniels serves up some bumping, choppy house, very a la ECB, etc, with the horn now coming in stabbing form, while reworked beats and bass keep the crowds moving.

Urban Soul - Unreleased Rmx Collection - King Street

Solid new EP of mixes of recent winners from Roland Clark no-de-plume, Urban Soul, on King Street Soulworks rework "Whatever Makes You Happy" first, keeping Roland s vocal as the centerpiece, while filtering the deep house backdrop nicely Tomo takes "love Is" and adds some great sax play along side funky keys, tight beats, and a funky, wandering bassline for more late night grooves On the flipside, Matty Heilbronn serves up some funky-as-hell house flavors, with a cracking horns, funky bass, and driving beats the key players here Last up are Blaze with their take on "Happy", a typically deep, piano-based Blaze production that will keep the late night house headz smiling

Jt Donaldson & Cpen - So Much Love Ep - Nightshift

JT Donaldson and Cpen team up as The Jack-O-Holics on this newie from the Nightshift label. "So Much To Love You" combines silky synth stabs and a great analog bassline with crisp hi-hats, great harmonies, and male vocal snippets on this grooving house outing. The dub take keeps the original intact, dropping the vocal and adding some stellar delays on the bass and synths. On the reverse, "Fade Away" centers in a thick bassline, while tight beats, fizzy analog keys, and swirling effects resulting in a cut very reminiscent of Basement Jaxx's "Rendez-Vous" had it been vocal-free and layered with dubbiness

Latrice Barnett - Illuminate/ Miguel Migs Rmx - Ultra

Latrice Barnett with her debut release for the Ultra label Chunky peaktime house beats, a great analog bassline, stabbing analog keys, and swirling effects back Latrice s usual soulful vocal display on this grooving helping of primetime house On the reverse, Miguel Migs gives the track subtle tweaks, brining the guitar more to the fore and giving the vocal a bit of treatment Not to be missed TRACKS Illuminate (Original)/ Illuminate (Miguel Migs Remix)
