BIOGRAPHY:

AZARI & III

They're hungry, they're reckless, they're taking the world by storm with their relentless love beats and fanatical siren songs, they are Azari & III and their medium is the message - free your spirit through raw ass dance music all night long!

The mysterious duo from the northern steppes of Canada started a fire burning with the brazen Hungry For The Power, a single released last fall that is continually blowing up with fans ranging from Annie Mac to Grizzly Bear, Boys Noize to Broken Social Scene. The follow up smash, Reckless (With Your Love), is currently serving up a dose of techno soul so addictively repeatable, you gotta be cautious or you'll get hooked.

With remixes for and by the likes of Health, Munk, Booka Shade, Le Le, Bot'ox, Ali Love, Sidwo? Nacho Lovers, Mano Le Tough, Runaway, Cosmo Vitelli and Mathias Aguayo, wait, lemme catch my breath...its only been 8 months but this outfit is outputting like a sweatshop in July! Let's hope they don't so quickly disappear into the strange abyss from which they came...but somehow I think there is a grander story unfolding here...

ANDY BUTLER (HERCULES & LOVE AFFAIR dj set)

The band's central figure, Andrew Butler, began his musical career at 15, DJing in a Denver leather bar run by a hostess called Chocolate Thunder Pussy. He then moved to New York, in order to attend Sarah Lawrence College. According to Butler: "I've been writing songs since childhood. I made music for dance performances in college (where he studied under Martin Goldray), like a remake of Gino Soccio's 'Runaway' done in the style of Kraftwerk.
The band made their live debut on May 17, 2008, at the Studio B venue in Brooklyn, New York, before going on a European and North American tour.
The first single "Blind", written by and featuring guest Antony Hegarty (lead vocalist in Antony & The Johnsons), was awarded Best Song of 2008 by Pitchfork Media and came in at sixth place in Resident Advisor's Top 30 tracks of that year. The follow-up "You Belong" featured the New York-based vocalist and musician Nomi Ruiz.
In early interviews, Butler stated his intent to release music with a rotating cast of performers and musicians.
The band was captured at London's Lovebox festival by VOGUE TV discussing their sartorial choices.

sekadar report gig dia di bandung nih. dancefloor-nya kosooong :( awalnya sih lumayan, tapi pada bengong, bingung mau joget atau apa, akhirnya bubar. padahal musiknya ga usah ditanya lagi, body jackin' bgt.  sama lah kaya Fact mix doi. gw akhirnya joget2 sendiri di pinggir dj booth ;D tapi ya bandung jg sih (no offense). di jakarta mudah2an lebih receptive ya. gw jg pengen liat dia lagi nih kalo dihadiahin tiket. anyone? ;D

Reportnya sih Azari & III bagus mainnya sayang productionnya tidak sebagus ketika Bag Raiders.

Mengenai Andy Butler, katanya sih ada problem teknis jadi dia bete sehingga dia main cuma 2 - 3 lagu gitu. Ada juga yang bilang karena dia bete tiba-tiba dance floor sepi. Emang sih setelah Azari main tiba-tiba orang-orang pada cabut, regular guests-nya BF juga pada pindah ke Puro. Pas di luar gw ketemu sama si andy terus mau nanya langsung kenapa dia berhenti main tiba-tiba, tapi gw takut muke gw dilempar koper sama dia karena udah keliatan jutek banget. Mungkin dari Future10 atau Ismaya ada yang bisa tolong memberi klarifikasi ?

Akhirnya Hogi yang nerusin main dan crowd pun terhibur kembali  *bgs*

kalo dancefloor sepi sih di bandung juga sepi banget tapi dia tetep santai. bete juga kali ya sepi lagi sepi lagi ;D tapi mudah2an emg problem teknis.
