SOULNATION FESTIVAL 2007

PT. Java Festival Production announced today that it is organizing yet another international music event, the "Soulnation Festival", on 2-3 November 2007. The venue is Carnival Beach (Pantai Carnaval) at the giant recreational complex of Ancol in North Jakarta.

The two day festival, covering Saturday and Sunday, will be an arena for Indonesian musicians to demonstrate their abilities, while at the same time presenting musicians from overseas. This festival will 'breathe' Soul, R & B and Hip Hop and the musical menu will be underpinned by several other activities like fire juggling, fortune telling, tattoo, bazaar and others.

The planned festival will start early each day and run for around eight hours, using the whole Carnival Beach area, including stages that will be named the Freedom Stage, Rodeo Stage, and the Dome (an indoor stage).

The organizers expect around 10,000 festival goers on each day, principally from the Jakarta metropolitan area, and it's surrounding urban centers of Bekasi and Depok (Jabodatabek), from other nearby cities including Bandung and Yogyakarta, as well as from the neighboring countries of Singapore, Malaysia and others.

They aim to create a new alternative entertainment and recreation for the public, especially the young generation and young professionals, as well as those who are young in spirit, with the festival.

The other aim of the organizers is to support the tourist sector and facilitate cultural interaction in the hope that through this festival, and the presence of foreign artists, the world will see yet again that Indonesia, especially Jakarta, is a safe place to visit.

In support of this plan the organizers are also inviting other parties to participate, in the form of individual partnerships that will benefit both parties.   

Such a festival also fosters cross-cultural cooperation, promote music and tourism industry, and provide Jakarta with an event that strengthens its identity as a metropolitan city.
