IN 1998, Steve Gerrard emerged from nowhere to win Muzik Magazine's prestigious Bedroom Bedlam award, two years later winning the Ericcson Muzik Award for Best Bedroom Bedlam DJ. Back then he was one of the scene's nu breed DJs, alongside fellow Bedroom Bedlam winners Paolo Mojo and James Zabiela, but since then, Steve's career has skyrocketed beyond his wildest dreams.

Influenced by some of the leading figures of the past few years, such as Sasha and John Digweed, Nick Warren, Danny Howells, Hybrid and many more, Steve's DJ style brings together deep progressive sounds, breakbeat and much more, and is so greatly popular that it has seen him grace the decks at many of the world's best clubs, support some of the best DJs, most recently having supported John Digweed on a Bedrock university tour of the UK, act as resident at the nights of people like Steve Lawler and even promote his own weekly events. Steve has taken each step in his stride, and it's his level headed approach to djing that has earned him respect from fans and peers alike.

Now thanks to Nascent Recordings, Steve is the first DJ to appear on their new compilation series 'Thinking Out Loud', a double cd mix where Steve showcases some of the best progressive and breakbeat tracks that have been present in his sets in the past few months, amongst some exciting future classics, all brought together and mixed with the aid of Allen & Heath's Xone:V6 mixer.

The transatlantic representation of talent within the mix, with names such as Holland's Matthew Dekay, Turkey's Subsky, Canada's Benz & MD all featuring, will be mirrored by an extensive DJ tour that will start in the United States, before moving through Asia and back to Steve's home soil in the United Kingdom, with future dates in Europe and Australia forthcoming.

There will also be a pair of limited edition vinyl samplers, which will include some of the exclusive tracks from the album, most of which will never see the light of day anywhere else, thus giving you the chance to own some of the "secret weapons" that Steve has been using to wow the crowds in recent times, in addition to some new material by Wrecked Angle, his production project with friend Russell Pearce.

John Digweed had this to say about the album - "Steve Gerrard's reputation as a great DJ is increasing year on year. This mix shows exactly why, with a cool mix of house and breaks".
