Dalam sebuah wawancara dengan majalah UK The Mirror, Carl Cox menyatakan pendapatnya mengenai kolaborasi produser elektronik dan artis Hip Hop yang menurutnya akan merusak Dance Scene secara keseluruhan. Dia menjelaskan banyak artis Hip Hop / Pop yang ingin berkolaborasi dengan dia, dan semua tarawan itu ditolak.

"I've turned them all down, I just don't believe in it," he told the paper. "Years ago, hip hop meant something. It was a stand against society. But these days it's all about bling-bling and getting paid. If I got involved in that my credibility would go down, not up."

Dia juga mengomentari soal kolaborasi David Guetta dengan Snoop Dogg dalam lagu Sweat yang akan mengisi album baru Guetta, Nothing But The Beat. Menurutnya lagu itu adalah lagu terburuk yang pernah dibuat Guetta dan Snoop Dogg.

"I like David Guetta as a person and he's talented in his own right, the same with Snoop. But put them together and it gives me a headache. It's just a cool business arrangement. Their managers have sat down together and done the maths."
