Mixmag, majalah clubbing ternama dari UK, tidak mau kalah dengan saingannya DJ MAG yang udah terkenal dengan polling Top 100 DJ - nya, tahun ini merilis daftar polling versinya sendiri yang diberi nama The  Greatest DJs Of All Time. Polling ini dibuka mulai september 2010 di http://greatest.dj/  untuk memilih DJ yang dianggap  sebagai yang terbaik sepanjang masa dari 35 daftar nominasinya. Tiesto, yang didukung oleh Sander Van Doorn berada di posisi pertama diatas Richie Hawtin dan Sven Vath. Berikut ini adalah daftar 10 DJ yang masuk ke daftar ini :

wah ga dijelaskan tuh ini bakal jadi annual, mungkin 10 tahun sekali ya. itupun kalo majalahnya masih terbit hehehe...

Sasha "humbled" by Mixmag Greatest DJ Result

Sasha has been in touch with Mixmag to thank everyone who voted for him in the poll to find the Greatest DJ Of All Time . The DJ was voted at number 8 in the final results.

He said " When it comes to dance music, everyone has a different viewpoint that comes from personal experience. My 'greatest DJs of all time' will always be the Haçienda DJs; Mike Pickering, Graeme Park and especially Jon Da Silva, who not only introduced me to this scene but taught me so much about DJing. While i thought it was an impossible task to create a poll for something so hard to quantify i am very humbled to be among such esteemed company in this top ten. The guys around me are all legends."

ini polling dari para DJ untuk memilih DJ favoritnya yah?
cuma disini terlihat sesuatu yang bisa dibilang amat sangat terkenal (read: Armin) malah ga ada yang milih...
apakah ini persaingan yang kurang sehat antara satu DJ dengan yang lainnya?
yang aneh, sesuatu yang musiknya terlalu komersil (read: Tiesto) malah menjadi nomer 1?

mungkin polling ini hanya untuk nama2 DJ yang udah lama berkiprah di kancah perdiskoan kayanya...
sehingga nama2 seperti Armin, Above & Beyond, Guetta, apalagi Deadmau5 ga masuk nominasi...
tapi kalo bener untuk muka lama, kenapa ga ada nama Digweed, ATB, dll? #justsaying

Ya namanya juga The Greatest DJs Of All Time, seharusnya emang nama yang senior bgt. Armin gua rasa masih junior, beda generasi dibanding tiesto / pvd. Tiesto memulai karir tahun 85-an sedangkan Armin baru sepuluh tahun kemudian...

itu maksudnya "championed by" apakah hanya sekedar pendapat atau dj-dj tersebut juga ikut voting?

klo menurut gw sih bagusnya klo mau buat semacam list mending votingnya di kalangan para pelaku EDM bussines aja jadi yang di voting itu diambil dari DJ,Producer, Label, Club, wartawan. ibarat kata kaya pemilihan ballon d'or kalo di sepakbola yg milih hanya pelatih/kapten tim. kayanya lebih fair aja menurut gw *piss*.

hehehe btw jagoan gw nonkrong di posisi 2.. *tepuktangan*
kangen liat dia perform lagi, setnya selalu ajaib *bgs*, 2 kali liat dia perform dgn set yg berbeda dan dua"nya sama pecahnya *tepuktangan*.

bawain lagi dong ke indonesia  ;)
