 *tepuktangan* The Faint  *tepuktangan*

The Faint is an American indie rock band. Formed in Omaha, Nebraska, the band consists of Todd Fink, Jacob Thiele, Dapose, Joel Petersen and Clark Baechle. The Faint was originally known as Norman Bailer and included Conor Oberst (of Bright Eyes, with whom the Faint toured in 2005). He quit shortly after the band was formed,  though the Faint continued to share a spot with Bright Eyes on Saddle Creek Records.

Growing up, Fink, Petersen, and Baechle skateboarded in their free time until Fink developed knee problems, which shifted their hobbies towards making music. The band originally consisted of Clark Baechle, Todd Fink (formerly Todd Baechle), and Joel Petersen. They signed to Saddle Creek Records and released a few singles, but were unable to establish widespread sales. After adding Matt Bowen, the Faint released Media. While touring, Bowen left and was replaced by Jacob Thiele. The next album, Blank-Wave Arcade, had a more dance and techno influenced sound and was an underground hit. Partway through the creation of Danse Macabre, the Faint added Dapose, a death metal guitarist formerly of LEAD. Their next album, released in 2004, was called Wet from Birth.

In May 2008, the Faint announced that they had split from Saddle Creek and that their fifth studio album would be self released under their own blank.wav imprint. The album, entitled Fasciinatiion, was released on August 5, 2008 in the U.S. The first single from the album is "The Geeks Were Right" which was released on Boys Noize Records. It was also announced that the band would tour North America with British electronic group Ladytron during the spring. Their song "Mirror Error" was also featured on season two of US television drama Gossip Girl, and other songs of theirs have also been featured in episodes of CSI: New York. Also, song "Worked Up So Sexual" is featured on The Office season 4, episode "Night Out," played in the background of a club.

Since the release of Fasciinatiion, three of the band members, Clark Baechle, Todd Fink and Jacob Thiele have been quietly, with little advertising, performing under the name Depressed Buttons, playing remixes of other artists, and DJing for various small clubs and venues.

[Download] New Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails - "Theme For Tetsuo: The Bullet Man"

t's always great to start off a day with new Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails tunes. Trent wrote a new song that plays over the ending credits of director Shinya Tsukamoto's "Tetsuo: The Bullet Man", check out the origin of how this collaboration came to below:

The producers spoke with Trent Reznor on the phone in January of last year, and Trent was eager to create the track. However, he did not send a song for a long time. When the Tetsuo camp heard about the Wave Goodbye shows, they had all but given up on this track. They continued editing for 7 or 8 months, and showing it at film festivals around the world, finally finishing the film on October 2009 -- without NIN song. But in February of 2010, Trent suddenly sent the song - and the song was, of course, fantastic! They were more than happy to redo the ending again and include the song! (Via The NIN Hotline)

You can listen and then grab this awesome track below. In other amazing Trent Rez news, How To Destroy Angels self-titled EP has a confirmed release date. The EP will be released on July 6th and you can already pre-order the CD from Amazon for $6.98.

NOSAJ THING

After cutting his teeth by making music on various archaic computers and programs in his early years, Nosaj Thing is now, without a doubt, among L.A.'s finest musical modulators. His electronic soundscapes and wild beat tectonics play like vignettes that affect the listener's mind as deeply as he hits their soul. Nosaj Thing creates nothing less than the sound mastery of beat driven, experimental electronics from a gifted noise constructor.

His debut album Drift was released by Alpha Pup in June 2009 to unanimous global acclaim. Pitchfork awarded an excellent 7.9 rating, calling the album "gorgeously haunted. sonic Easter Eggs for a thousand listens." The album peaked at 5 on the iTunes Electronic chart, and went all the way to 1 on Bleep and Boomkat. The success of Drift led to Nosaj Thing being featured in magazines such as Spin, Fader, XLR8R, The New Yorker, Nylon and URB. He has received regular airplay on BBC Radio 1 and Los Angeles' KCRW, while his engaging live set has made him a staple of the worldwide underground touring circuit.

NATHAN FAKE

Nathan Fake is 27 years of age (born in 1983), and yes, that is his real name. He hails from that most unlikely hotbed of new musical talent, the deepest, darkest farmer country of Norfolk, UK. Two years ago Nathan, headed for the bright lights and big city of Reading(!), and since then has never looked back.

Nathan exploded onto the scene last year with the mighty 'Outhouse' on James Holden's Border Community label, one of the most astounding debut singles in a long time which has surely now earned classic status, still receiving regular club and radio plays one year down the line. His rocktronica follow up "The Sky was Pink" (graced with a remix by Nathan's main fan 1#, James Holden) looks as though it may even better the incredibly high standards set by his debut, now set for not one but two rereleases, one through France's Cyber, another in the US through none other than Francois K's Wave label.

MUNGOLIAN JET-SET

The Mungolian Jet Set have landed! After a four-year journey through time and space, Paul "Strangefruit" Nyhus, Reidar Skar and their crew have returned, bringing many treasures back for the less adventurous to savour.

The album begins with the burning rush of re-entering the atosphere, hurtling towards the grounding of a beat beneath dualing keyboards, before relaunching through alien rapping, raunchy hard blues, Milesian jazz, atmospheric terror mixed with Zappaesque dry humour, manic DJ spins.

JOY ORBISON

"Cool" uncles have always gotten kids into all kinds of wonderful mischief, but 22-year-old Peter O'Grady from London , better known as Joy Orbison, was especially blessed—he credits uncle Ray Keith with introducing him to jungle and U.K. garage long before he could ever hit the clubs. At the age of 13 he took up DJing and eventually moved into production, beginning with Fruity Loops-crafted 8-bar grime loops before shifting into headier territory that combined his love of house, disco, and dubstep with the atmospheric fuzz of bands like My Bloody Valentine, Josef K, and The Beach Boys.

His debut single "Hyph Mngo" has become the forward-thinking dubstep/2-step tune of 2009, and was followed by "BRKL CLLN" on O'Grady's own Doldrums label, which he runs in tandem with partner Impey.
