PARA KREATIF DI BIDANG MUSIK, INI SAATNYA UNJUK DIRI DAN RAIH KESEMPATAN TERBANG KE INGGRIS BUAT IKUTAN AJANG KOMPETISI INTERNASIONAL BRITISH COUNCIL IYCEY MUSIC AWARD DI INGGRIS!
Please find below information on the International Young Creative Entrepreneur of the Year (IYCEY) Music Awards 2007. I'm also attaching detail information and the application form for you to go over.

Who can apply?
We are an equal opportunities organisation and encourage application from all sections of the community, including from people with different abilities.
As a standard requirement, all candidates must:

    * Have Indonesian citizenship, aged between 25 and 35
    * Be entrepreneurial and have shown their ability in the promotion of music in their country, in either a commercial context, public context, or both.
    * Through their character, drive and abilities demonstrate their potential to be future leader of the sector in the country
    * Have English language skills to 'competent user' level or equivalent to IELTS 6


Candidates must already be active professionally in Indonesia 's for at least 2 years in any of the following music sectors:

    * Record companies; Artists & Repertoire (A&R); producing, recording, engineering; music licensing, and distribution
    * Venue and/or festival programming and management
    * Artists management and agents
    * Music broadcasting
    * Music journalism and publishing
    * Music development & management
    * Music marketing; public and media relations
    * Music retail; online (including digital) and high street outlets

We recognise that a participant may be active as a musician or DJ; however their work as an artist should be secondary to their focus as an entrepreneur in the promotion of music in their country.  Musical talent/output will not be factored into the judging procedure – finalists will be judged solely on the merit of their entrepreneurial abilities in the music business.

2.       Complete all sections in the application form and return it by email to iycey_music@britishcouncil.or.id by 30 March 2007 (midnight), OR send a signed hard copy of your application along with samples of your professional output and activities (CDs, VCD/DVDs. media clippings, promo materials, and power point presentation) no later than 30 March 2007 (postal stamp), to:

How will the winner be chosen?
1.       3 April 2007: we will announce short-listed candidates of their successful applications on our website.
2.       10 - 12 April 2007: we will invite a maximum of 10 short-listed candidates for a 3-day final selection in Jakarta . We will provide accommodations for all but will only reimburse transportation for those travelling from outside Jakarta , Depok, Bogor , Tangerang, Bekasi, and Banten.
3.       The short-listed candidates will undergo a comprehensive English test and interview by a panel of national selection committee comprising of leading Indonesian music industry professionals and British Council representative in Jakarta .
4.       During the interviews candidates will be asked to make a fifteen minute presentation to the panel. The presentation should include:
o        Background of the national music industry and the candidate's understanding of current issues
o        Description of the candidate's work as a creative entrepreneur, demonstrating how he/she successfully synergise the commercial and creative aspects
o        The candidate's wider vision for his/her own work within the context of this industry –demonstrating his/her leadership within it
o        How the IYCEY award would benefit the candidate, his/her industry, and UK-Indonesia partnership
5.       18-30 June 2007: The Indonesian winner will join finalists from 9 other countries for a 14 day tour of the UK . The visit includes the Glastonbury Festival (22-24 June) and London Calling (28-29 June) where winners can promote their work and music from their country.
6.       An elite panel of UK jury representing the industry will select the Award winner 2007 based on the finalists' 20 minutes presentation and Q&A session.
7.       The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony.

What is the Award?
A financial award of £ 7,500 will be linked to a UK-Indonesia partnership project, tailored to the winner's specific needs. This may include funding for:

    * Placement in UK industry
    * Bring over UK specialists to run workshops in-country
    * Buy rights
    * Collaborative projects with contacts established during the winner's visit to the UK

The winner is required to develop a proposal that will be agreed by us and the relevant arts department in the UK .
