Hey everyone. Happy New Year.

I've just uploaded my set from last night. Recorded live - but I've had to split it over two mp3 files.

Anyone who likes trance, uplifting trance and hard trance should enjoy the set.

To download just copy the links into your browser and then scroll down the rapidshare page and click on the FREE download button. They should take about 11 minutes each to download.

Hope you all enjoy it.

I seem to remember it was more than three days later that you were playing at 190 BPM so it couldn't have been my mushroom shakes.

So, where in Jakarta do I get mushrooms shakes?

I think you should organise a psy trance night. i'll come and play and show you how to make the shakes. Every can get really f***ed and fly to the moon.

Just have to make sure it a nice dark place.

Those sunrises can be brutal  ;)

Never go out at night without your RayBan's   8)

was that infected mushroom or Magic Mushroom? Hmm, no, wait. They were the cocktails I used to make at my bar weren't they.

Come to think of it I doubt if Eric would know what a magic mushroom shake was  ;D ;D ;D

That's what Indonesia needs. More magic mushrooms.

For those who don't know how to, here is my secret recipe:

About 15 or 20 mushrooms (fresh mushrooms. The dry ones don't work)
Pineapple juice
a dash - only a dash (ie very small amount) of lemon juice
A bigger splash of honey
one glass of ice
Put it all in a blender and mix

Don't worry about the green colour. It tastes great  ;D ;D

Drink and enjoy. Lasts for about 4 hours  *tepuktangan* *tepuktangan* *tepuktangan*

Do NOT put Arak or Red Bull, or anything else in the mix

Have a happy flight  *tepuktangan* *tepuktangan* *tepuktangan*

Perfect for your sort of mixing Dj punct.  8) 8) 8)

I've played with you. And the last time I *wasn't* the person playing at 190 bpm. hahahahahehe

Or the one one drinking something strange, with a tinge of blue (or perhaps it was green) that burnt like aviation fuel  - with a bright blue flame *bgs* *bgs* *bgs*

We sure had the place jumping though *bgs* *bgs* *bgs*

Any that:

1. Fully cover my ears
2. Don't break while I'm mixing
3. Has a good audio range
4. That I don't loose

I've used Stanton, Behringer and Pioneer. Now I'm using some Philips SHP805s. When I was playing in Bali and Lombok the only 'phones I could get there (after I lost my Behringer's) were fairly cheap ones ... around Rp 200,000 I think and they worked fine too. But they did seem to break fairly easily  :-\

I think for comfort it's up to each individual. Don't get fooled into paying for a high priced set of 'phones that don't perform a whole lot better than a medium priced set. Check the dynamic range.

Hey Ricky,

Thanks for the welcome bro. Glad you enjoyed the disks I sent you.

I'm always happy to play with local DJs and more happy to play with new DJs so it would be cool to play with you.

Your work is good bro. Keep it up.

Disk Jockey / Vocals or NVD?
16/10/07, 20:24
I'm curious as to what the trends are among the DJ's here who spin trance. Especially DJs in different parts of Indonesia.

Primarily tunes in the 130 - 145 bpm range

Do you spin mostly vocal trance or non-vocal (non-vocal dance - NVD) ?

How much of what you are spinning is commercial tunes ie Carl B, Tiesto, Illo, etc and how much is from lesser well known producers ?

Thanks for reading

Hi eNeRGy dance music. No hip-hop, bip bop, R&B. Even the chillout I play has bass - well some  ;)

Gotta start about 130 bpm and the only way to go from there is up.  ;)

Hi everyone

my good friend Echa, alias DJ Punct on here, just told me about this site. What a great looking site too.

I've been playing since  the early 90's when I started playing house music at clubs around Melbourne and Sydney.

I held a number of residencies in the 90's but rapidly built a reputation as a guest DJ playing the high point of the evening with high energy dance tunes taking club goers through the peak midnight to 4 am time slots.

Towards the end of the 90's I started introducing progressive house and tribal tracks into my sets and as the world-wide enthusiasm for trance and hard dance styles started playing more of this style of music.

In the late 90's he held the residency at Tropicana in East Timor and in the early 2000's he took up a residency at Trawangan Beach Club in Lombok and for five years played a weekly trance and hard dance music night, as well as more sedate genres on other nights, often playing marathon eight and ten hour sets.

I also was a guest DJ at other clubs in Lombok and Bali, often playing four sets a night at two different clubs where my high energy style rocked the dance floors and packed the clubs to capacity.

With the global trend shifting towards non-vocal tracks in the mid 2000's I concentrated on this style of music more and more.

My sets typically include a mix of progressive house, tribal, electro, and trance genres with a mix of commercially available tunes and as well as those from smaller producers raising the tempo of the evening and taking club goers on a musical journey that invigorates the senses.

My sets are definitely geared towards those people who go to clubs to dance and not those who prefer to shuffle.

I have played at clubs in Melbourne, Sydney, Darwin, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

I hope to meet lots of the members here when I come back to Indonesia to play in the future
