kayaknya bentar lagi REKORDBOX jadi standard deh dimana2, sekarang cdj350/850/900/2000 bisa rekordbox semua, praktis juga sih kalo nge gig tinggal bawa USB (cdnya buat backup doang)

Pioneer CDJ-850 multimedia player is compatible with MP3, AAC, WAV, and AIFF media formats and comes with rekordbox software.

Built with the same layout and features of the professional series, but presented with a more affordable price, the new Pioneer CDJ-850 multimedia player offers pro-level control features and a familiar DJ layout.

With the same exacting control features of Pioneer's professional series, the CDJ-850 boasts a large 206 mm jog dial, a rotary selector, browse buttons, and more. The new multimedia player is compatible with a variety of media formats, including MP3, AAC, WAV, and AIFF formats recorded on USB storage devices or on CD-R / RW discs.

To help you better manage all the music files you have on hand, the CDJ-850 comes with rekordbox music management software. Once installed on your computer (Mac or PC), Rekordbox allows you to analyze music files and manage them -- make settings, create and edit playlists, and save histories -- in a way optimized for DJ play and performance. You can use rekordbox to analyze data such as the wave, beat grid, BPM, meta tags, and loop settings.

What's more, you can also save the history of music files played on the CDJ-850 and play them again at a later time. When music files and their associated management data is saved with rekordbox and exported onto a USB storage device, they can be accessed by the CDJ-850 even when it is not connected to a computer.

The GUI makes music file information such as title, artist, and BPM easily accessible, while the CDJ-850's rotary selector make selecting music files a quick task.

With the new editable Tag List function, the CDJ-850 allows a song to be registered with just the press of a button while playing or selecting a song, so that a list of songs to be played next can be created. Further, the order of songs in the Tag List can be changed and the list can be saved as a rekordbox playlist.

mini review:
menurut gue ini cdj solid banget, sebelum ini gue pake cdj400, sebelumnya cdj800mk2 (gue jual pas pindah dari sydney ke singapore - kegedean ga muat di koper) and sebelumnya 800mk1 -  so far ini the best one

Appearance: Glossy black - ini cdj rata2 surfacenya itu yang mengkilap gitu (except for some part at the top) - this could be good or could be bad - pas baru sih bagus ya, tapi lama2 sidik jari pada nempel semua (jadi harus siapin kayak lap buat kacamata gitu yang halus biar gak scratch pas di lap hahaha)   bagian layarnya apa lagi - very shiny when new tapi kalo dipegang dikit (apalagi kalo abis scratching lama2 en tangan agak keringetan - sidik jari dimana2!)

Layar LCD:  Item putih gak kayak cdj2000, tapi buat browsing files itu enak banget, gak kaya di cdj800 pas masukin cd mp3 - mata bisa pegel nyari tracknya - di cdj900 enak  (apalagi kalo pake rekordbox)   kalo abis dianalyse pake rekordbox waveformnya juga keliatan - dan loadnya cepet banget - gue coba2 pake lan cable (dikasih di boxnya) untuk connect 2 cdj900 pake Lan cable - the response time is very fasT!! So basically you only need one USB Stick and both cdjs can read it (must be paired with another 900 or a 2000)

Wave formnya itu gak se detailed dibangingin sama cdj2000 yang berwarna, tapi jauh lebih jelas dari cdj1000 mk3 - lumayan lah untuk liat bridge ato break di track itu dimana - very nice indeed

kalo menurut gue cdj900 is bener2 future proof - emang sih ga sebagus 2000 tapi dengan harga yang lebih rendah dia lebih value - di sini aja (gw di singapore at the moment) cdj800mk2 and cdj1000mk3 udah di discontinue - ga akan bakal di stock lagi setelah stock2 abis, makanya harganya pada jatoh,   bentar lagi either 900/2000 bisa bakalan jadi standar jadi ga nyesel deh kalo invest ,  gue kemaren liat cdj350 di warehouse pioneer - walah man buildnya tuh plastik banget, trus enteng sekali cdjnya , kayak mainan hahaha - jujurnya bagusan 400 daripada 350, cuma ya 400 ga support rekordbox - cdj350 gak ada digital output (pioneer pelit neh) - en gak ada tombol reverse (again, pioneer pelit ya, apa susahnya sih tambahin tombol reverse hahaha)

lagu2nya itu agak lebih cepet dari hard trance or hardstyle tapi gak sekenceng hardstyle

gue pernah maen b2b sama si dj ravine di sydney, gue inget karena dia maunya pake serato
melulu (liat di background dia sebelah kiri, yang maennya pake laptop itu si ravine, orang vietnam yang nge dj di sydney)

yang namanya E.D.M. itu adalah "electronic dance music"
jaman sekarang genre music di dance itu udah kebanyakan, ada tech-trance lah, tech-house lah, minimal techno lah,  tribal lah,  too many genres sedangkan banyak orang yang style nya tuh campur aduk (maen banyak style macem2)

jadi term "E.D.M." ini muncul karena DJ2 udah males nge label dirinya sendiri~
contohnya, Paul Van dyk
once upon a time dia adalah seorang "TRANCE DJ" titlenya
berhubung lately trance itu udah di infusion sama house, electro, progressive, minimal, jadi the term TRANCE DJ udah gak berlaku lagi

jadi daripada paul van dyk menyebut dirinya "EUPHORIC TRANCE/ELECTRO/HOUSE/MINIMAL/PROGRESSIVE" blah blah blah DJ (kepanjangaaan atuhhhh)

dia simply call himself an "E.D.M." dj 
karena E.D.M. itu mencakup semua aliran di Electronic Dance music

kalo kenapa techno disebut techno, karena jaman dulu pas techno baru muncul (dulu they call it "DETROIT Techno")  techno itu suaranya sangat "techno-logical" maksudnya kayak berantakan, gak beraturan, dan very electronic
sekarang ini aliran techno yang PURIST (pure techno) itu adalah music yang PERCUSSIVE based- jadi lagunya itu adalah terdiri dari repetisi suara2 yang di loop dan diulang2 dan very basic
the pure techno can be very boring for some people, makanya most techno djs (like carl cox) harus banyak looping dan tricks pas lagi manggung biar gak bosen, karena pure techno itu sangat loop based and repetition based

susah ya jelasinnya tanpa maenin contoh2 lagu dari each genre

oleh karena itu, daripada pusing2 nge labelin dance music, mending di enjoy aja~ and namain aja "E.D.M." .  simple kan ? hehehe it covers everything

di "remix" sama steve hill and d10 jadi hard trance
jadi the one that u listen to is classified hard trance
tapi aslinya bukan (lagu aslinya keluar sekitar 5 tahun lalu, versi yang ini keluar sekitar 2 taun lalu)

hard trance itu genrenya dikategorikan bukan dari bpm (biarpun rata2 bpm 140) tapi dari struktur lagunya dan penggunaan synth nya , yang namanya hard dance itu kategori yang lebih luas,
jadi yang namanya hard dance itu bisa juga hard house, hard trance, or even hardstyle, karena maksudnya itu adalah "dance music yang lebih kearah HARD"
ngerti gak maksudnya? agak susah dijelasin lewat text sih, lebih gampang in person hahaha

paling nyebelin tuh maen back to back (b2b) alias ganti2an sama dj yang elo gak gitu kenal

gue pernah sekali maen di festival (a night of trance summer festival, sydney 2008) and dipasangin  sama satu dj bule~
ini dj bule bener2 keterlaluan, mixnya pake needle STANTON yang standard (NEEDLE YANG GRATISAN!) udah gitu needlenya udah karatan pula, ketauan banget pas dia cue tuh loncat mulu~

pas gue lagi mixing follow up dia, karena eventnya tuh gede dan soundsystemnya gila banget (AWAS GETARAAAN)
karena needlenya jelek, pas gue lagi mix into his track (on vinyl) with my track (from pioneer cdj1000mk3)  tiba2 jarumnya loncat, in  the middle of the mix

OH MY GOD, Gara2 dia... ampir trainwreck ,mau gak mau gue cut langsung selama transisi

trus abis itu dia KABUR ke backstage

emang sih komunitas dj aussie-indo di sydney  agak susah dicari,  waktu manggung aja gue satu2nya indo, asianya juga gak banyak paling cuma si arbee, pulsar sama suae, biasanya banyakan bulenya kita dj asia jadi minoritas
