"Clubbing is a culture, not a few messy hours in the middle of the night, but EDM culture doesn't promote that. If you're Suzie who just graduated high school in Florida, you go to Ultra and think "Holy shit, Avicii is about to blow my panties off."

Techno / ELEKTRO GUZZI
03/07/12, 01:13

ELEKTRO GUZZI

Elektro Guzzi is a Techno Band. Yes, a band. Bernhard Breuer, Bernhard Hammer, & Jakob Schneidewind, from Dusseldorf, Vienna, use no laptops, nor sampling. For everything you heard was done live in front of your eyes using drum, bass, and guitar, sometimes with additional instruments and effects, but nothing was looped, prerecorded, or overdubbed. Everything was done live. They started in 2004, taking five years to shape their skills before ever entering the studio, as a post-rock, krautrock band, but then they decided to become machine them self. And this is no joke; instead of becoming entangled in long tiring jams, their performance was all about structure; everything was properly placed and done at it exact timing. Their song was truly a song, a repertoire, a number.

As fascinating as the resulting music already sounds on their debut releases for Macro (produced by Austrian legend Patrick Pulsinger), the band is perfectly able to bring it on stage. There, they connect the hypnotizing force of their analogue techno with the visual treat of a band doing it all right in front of your eyes. You hear it, you witness it, and you dance.

Jadi konteksnya tepat.

Demikian lah, sorry kalau ada salah2 kata. Sekali lagi tujuannya utk kebaikan bersama ya. Much appreciated..

THE BRANDT BRAUER FRICKT ENSEMBLE

Taken from www.last.fm:

For Brandt Brauer Frick, the drums, strings and pianos that have long been the bedrock of Western music serve as the common thread between the classical past and their techno present. But while devoted to the rich tones and timbres of orchestral instrumentation, the German trio's rousing tracks are rhythmically focused and rendered with the mechanical precision of four-to-the-floor club tracks. Their singular vision of acoustic dance music springs to life in their engaging live performances and on their debut LP, You Make Me Real.

"We had felt for years that most instances of combining techno and classical music lack an authentic approach," says Paul Frick. "Instead of using only the typical epic orchestra or piano sounds, we love to explore the dirty and percussive sides of those instruments, adapting techniques from composers like John Cage or Helmut Lachenmann: preparing our piano with screws and rubbers, knocking against every single part of an instrument, until we find that one great sound."

In a sense, these three have been preparing their whole lives for a project this ambitious. Daniel Brandt and Jan Brauer first joined forces in school jazz ensembles, a musical relationship that was rekindled when the pair formed the jazz-influenced dance group Scott. Paul Frick was steeped in classical music from a young age, studying composition with Friedrich Goldmann at the Berlin University of the Arts and writing house tunes that sampled orchestral instrumentation. Having mutually admired each other's music, the three met in 2008 and soon realized their shared passion for classical forms was an opportunity to work together.

Music / Skweee?
24/02/10, 07:42
(Intel gathered from Wikipedia , Last.FM, & Dubstepforum )

What is Skweee?

Skweee is a musical style, with origin in Nordic countries Sweden and Finland. Skweee combines simple synth leads and basslines with funk, r'n'b or soul-like rhythms, overall rendering a stripped-down funky sound. The tracks are mostly entirely instrumental, though there are exceptions. The name Skweee was coined by Daniel Savio, one of the originators of the emerging sound. The name refers to the use of vintage synthesizers in the production process, where the aim is to "squeeze out" the most interesting sounds possible.

Skweee varies in tempo from 70-120 and is made up of all synthetic sounds. When performed live at skweee parties in Scandinavia, theres rarely dj sets, most of the time they perform it live with hardware synths, drum machines and sequencers.

Skweee and Dubstep

Skweee has during late 2008 and early 2009 started to influence the vibrant Dubstep sound. A thread started on the dubstepforum made the scene aware of skweee. Producers such as Rusko, Gemmy, Joker, Zomby, Rustie, Jamie Vex'd among others, has given their take on the sound resulting in several interesting releases on the boundary between skweee and dubstep.

Hello producers, piye kabare?

Gw cuma pengen sedikit nanya nih. Kita kan tau ya, EDM di Indonesia udh cukup lama keberadaannya. Lantas setelah sekian lama, ada gak sih yg pernah nyoba bikin genre sendiri? Seperti misalnya ketika kita denger minimal tech, kita keinget jerman. Dubstep & Drum n Bass, kita inget Inggris. House, kita inget US, dsb dsb..

Nah, sekarang kalau mau keinget Indonesia, kita dengerin apa? Tung house? Cha - dut? Sebenernya ada gak sih genre EDM yg Indonesia banget? Gak usah original2 amat lah, gak ada kok yg ori2 amat. Minimal nya cologne juga owes a lot to detroit.

Is there any specific musical genre that represent local EDM scene here? "

So let the good times roll mate!  *bgs*  *bgs*

Hello,

Saya agak penasaran sih soal ini. Sebenernya mekanisme nya gimana sih? Ada aturan tertulis gak buat ini? Lantas seharusnya utk ijin ini dikeluarkan dikenakan biaya apa enggak? Dan kalau pun ada biaya, biasanya berapa? Soalnya gak masuk akal kalau setiap kali bikin  event musti minta ijin lagi dan bayar lagi melulu. Plus, kayaknya di kota2 laen gak seribet gini deh... tolong "dicerahkan" ya brads! Tararengkyu ah...

Yo, gw baca ini di create digital motion, ternyata Ableton gak cuma bisa warping audio tapi juga video. This is a veeery2 good news for us visualizers, for notch by notch manual video synchronizing is such a pain in the A.S.S;

From Ethan Goldhammer today, we have two wonderful "light painting" videos. If you thought you were tired of this effect, watch what happens when light painting and stop motion are used creatively, not just for the gimmick itself but to make an actual video statement. Ethan also has an interesting workflow: start in Final Cut Pro, warp in Ableton, export back to FCP, edit.

Anybody want to share details about this stuff, would be mighty appreciated..

Kasian gw asli..

Malah makin parah deh perasaan. Trus kapan kita majunya kalau support yg mustinya diterima talent lokal malah diabisin bwt talent luar mulu? Sedih asli gw ngeliatnya..

Udah gitu mahal2 bawa talent luar, jebret maen, pulang.. minggu depan yg baru lagi nongol.. asli kok jadi kayak nonton dvd ya? gak berasa juga jadinya kan? Keuntungan bwt komunitas lokalnya apa? Belajar? Iya sih, tp gak sejauh sampe kalo bikin workshop atau project kolaborasi serius juga toh? Lantas kenapa enggak?

Sekali lagi mohon maaf sebesar2nya, gw cuman pingin membuka pintu dialog aja. Soalnya asli gw penasaran nih.. kenapa ya? Jelek? Kurang bergengsi? Kurang gaya kalau gak bawa talent luar? Apa?

Electrofux:

SUCK MY KORG !!!!

ELECTROFUX on KORG SX-1

By his own words:

"This is the 1st time ever i use SX-1 Electribe by korg..., most the features on the hardware are similar with the
MX-1 Electribe. These electribe series could be use for freestylin' performance where you just play along with any rhythmic sounds. whether with a guitarist, bassist, live analogue drums or a whole analogue band, you can still jam like any normal musician. but that the catch is whether you have the groove to bust the move these typical hardware. SX-1 & MX-1 are my weapons of choice.."

Dari Message Inbox Di facebook, dikirim oleh manajemen Live P.A Group "Bottlesmoker" :

Ada yg pernah lihat iklan Cerebrovit yg baru? Commercial Song-nya memakai lagu Hello We Are Bottlesmoker.

Terimakasih.

This "slow mo smile" album contains new materials of bottlesmoker songs and public able to download it for free, simply by log on to www.bottlesmoker.probablyworse.com instead, "slow mo smile" album re-released by net label from Indonesia "shining" records, a net label under a same roof with "deathrockstar.info". That makes bottlesmoker "slow mo smile" album can be download for free at www.shiningrecords.com/bottlesmoker.
