Jakarta Events / SANDY RIVERA aka KINGS OF TOMORROW - 31st May 200723/04/07, 19:00About SANDY RIVERA aka KINGS OF TOMORROW (Defected/Blackwiz) The major driving force behind the respected Kings of Tomorrow, DJ/Producer Sandy Rivera has steadily carved a successful niche for himself as one of house music's most innovative craftsmen. In a club-oriented career that has spanned almost a decade, Rivera has taken house music – be it vocal - or track-driven - to a purely melodic level worthy of the attention his cuts receive both on the dance floor and in the columns of club music critics globally. Through Kings of Tomorrow, also known by the acronym, K.O.T., Rivera has garnered an impressive collection of remixes and original productions. He has published a endless numbers of records for giant house labels such as Defected, Ministry of Sound, Renaissance, Hed Kandi, Subliminal, as well as his own labels, Blackwiz and Deep Vision. Originally involved with the fledgling hip-hop scene in New York in the 1990's, he moved to London's Soho and quickly gained a reputation as a producer making cutting-edge house music. After doing the rounds on the dance floor for a couple of years, his release 'Finally' became an anthem of the early noughties. A gold-plated house music anthem which picked up a clutch of gongs, including a Pacha Award for Best Ibiza Tune and a Muzik magazine award for Tune of the Year. While 'Young hearts' featured on UK TV commercials. Sandy Rivera is also one of Defected records most accomplished and stylish music makers through his "Defected in The House" compilation. Rivera has a great reason to throw a party. In 2007, a year after his massively successful full length 'Trouble', his compilation 'The Master Series Vol. 8' was released on progressive stable Renaissance - the first time the giant progressive label has chosen a DJ outside the genre for their Masters series. www.myspace.com/sandyrivera Pages1
