.:: Lee Burridge makes it 12 - Balance Returns ::..

: Written by Liz Charles

EQ Recordings continue onwards and upwards with their cult-like Balance series in an ever evolving manner bringing you the next instalment mixed by the wandering minstrel of dance music; Lee Burridge.

Offering a premium selection of underground house, Lee's DJ sets are never the same twice, they have to be heard to be believed. So, what better way to showcase this sublimely varied mixture of vibes than on a triple disc mix for one of the world's leading compilation series, 'Balance'. Balance 012 mixed by Lee Burridge is a sublime a collection of house rhythms, techno beats and subtle melodies, culminating in a deep, beautiful, dark, trippy and wobbly soundtrack.

Featuring a wide array of cutting edge artists including Martin Buttrich, Jose Padilla, Dennis Ferrer, H-Man, Paul Daley, Alexi Delano, Efdemin, Gabriel Ananda and more, this is a CD that will deliver the complete Lee Burridge experience in one package.

With 2007 well underway, as usual, Lee's got his nose to grindstone and loving every minute of it - mind you, compared to electrocution, it's probably bliss. On top of his 'Almost Anonymous' releases, his annual 'Lovelee' party at the San Francisco Love Parade, will be twisting a few hundred minds in September. He'll be changing lives forever at the USA's Burning Man Festival, and then there's the small matter of touring the planet to support his illustrious x3 disc mix for the uber-underground, world-renowned Balance compilation series.

Having featured the likes of James Holden, Chris Fortier, Desyn Masiello, Paolo Mojo and Luke Fair, Australia's 'Balance' CD's have become an industry benchmark and with Lee commanding his own within the coming weeks, it's set to reach even greater heights. To support its highly anticipated release, Lee will be embarking on a world tour, so don't miss your chance to see him in action, in a town near you.

James Zabiela & Nic Fanciulli - One+One
Label: Ministry Of Sound Recordings | Release Date: Monday, April 02, 2007

James Zabiela & Nic Fanciulli - One+One

One+One sees two of today's most exciting, talented and revered artists join forces as they attempt to create a piece of dance music history.

James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli first struck up a friendship during gigs in Asia in 2005. Their mutual understanding of each other's music coupled with the fact they had fun and got into all sorts of mischief together made them inseparable. Throughout 2006 the pair experimented playing back2back, including New Year's Day in Nic's hometown of Maidstone, the sunnier climes of Miami's WMC at Cafeteria and We Love... Space, Ibiza. All received rave reviews (no pun intended) and it was proof indeed JZ and Nic needed to take this idea further – and so 'One+One' is born.

Under the One+One banner the duo has struck a deal with Ministry of Sound Recordings for a unique album. A studio mix that features bespoke productions by James and Nic including collaborations in the form of 'No Pressure' and 'Rover', both of which are a seamless meeting of James's futuristic style and Nic's acid-house vibe. Also featured is the outstanding Jim Rivers remix of Nic Fanciulli's 'Cat Out Of The Bag', a new solo track from James Zabiela entitled 'Human', plus a range of exclusive edits and mashups. The album spans all genres of electronica with a massive dose of all the bleeps, squeaks, stabs, synths, bass and melodies that James and Nic pioneer week in week out on the world's dance-floors.

"We both started off with the same musical background and as time went on we developed our own styles. When we put them together it works well and we seem to compliment each other musically. Normally when making an album I panic about getting things done but this has been a totally different process. I've really enjoyed it; James and I bounce off each other and help one another out if the other is struggling." - Nic Fanciulli

The concept will encompass a world tour, starting at Miami's WMC 2007 with a One+One launch party. Then they'll be hitting the UK club scene with 9 dates before jetting back to do the USA leg. This will see the pair touring like rock stars as they get aboard a tour bus and gig their way around the country covering the length and breadth of America with up to five gigs a week. Following this is a month in Asia and Australia trailed by a full 3 months in Europe centred around Ibiza's summer season which includes a rather special and exclusive One+One residency at We Love...Space. After their stellar Space performances in the summer of 2006 the residency for 2007 seemed the only logical option for people at We Love Towers. James and Nic will play back2back together on every One+One show. It'll be a multiple CD deck and laptop extravaganza of layering music, bending sounds and twisting beats to one mind-blowing effect.

"Even though Nic and I are relatively young DJs compared to most we've been touring heavily on our own for a few years now. So when we did a quick tour of Australia and Asia last year we decided that it's much more fun to go with someone else! I always wanted more hands in the DJ Booth and now I have them, we'll be using the Q2 Dual DJ which will allow us to independently cue things as well as play with FX units, Laptops and CDJs of course." - James Zabiela

..:: Peter Hook (New Order, UK) ::..

Zouk - Singapore

: Friday, 31 August 2007

: 11:00 PM

house : : progressive : : electro : techno : all style ::

The pioneering sounds of the influential English bands Joy Division and New Order were marked by the sinister, throbbing bass of guitarist Peter Hook. Back in the 1970s, Hook's bass instilled the importance of rhythm in punk rock, helping to inspire a generation of dance-oriented new wave bands.

Since 2002, however, Hook has been marching to a different rhythm - as a DJ. With over two decades of quality music in his record box, he often goes for a mash-up of tracks that range from present favourites to The Hacienda/Manchester revolution, New Order classics and exclusive remixes. So when one of the pioneers of dance music offers his own personal insight into the music which defined a generation, you quite simply have to sit up and take notice.

Tickets:    $23/$28, $15 before 10pm (incl 2 drinks) (Singapore Dollars)
Line-up:
Peter Hook (New Order) (UK)
Venue:    Zouk
17 Jiak Kim Street

ho..ohhh

this is an easy topic to share @ tea time ....,maybe some response will know the way out and or any critics welcome !!! ;)

sudah layak lah utk join... *bgs*
