BIOGRAPHY

Austin Leeds is that kind of modest musical genius who doesn mention his amazing body of work or long, successful career when you first meet him.  Instead hel drag you into his studio to get your opinion on his next track, always striving to improve and innovate.  And with the huge number of quality tunes he churns out, you could be in there for a while.

Austin first rose to prominence with a string of hits on John Digweed Bedrock label in 2000, and quickly started seeing his music everywhere. It wasn long before Leeds' music had found a honored spot in the record bags of all the DJ heavyweights: Danny Tenaglia, Erick Morillo, DJ Vibe, Oscar G, Deep Dish, John Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, and Superchumbo, to name a few.  In one year alone, Austin had five of his tracks played on Pete Tong BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, by DJs Deep Dish, Murk, Sharam, Armin Van Burren, and Seb Fontaine.

Originally from Miami, a town that is no stranger to dance music, Austin recently settled in Las Vegas, that other sun-drenched capital of sonic hedonism, just down the street from good friend and production partner Nick Terranova.  Austin collaborative partnership with Nick has been a long and successful one.  The Terranova

(Peter Hook's MySpace Page) Peter Hook, the bassist of Joy Division then New Order, has confirmed on his blog today that it's official: New Order splits.

"I suppose it was the interview with clint boon that started it all off hed asked me for a few words on perry farrells satellite party single dogstar [which he thought was great] so i went on and lo and behold mentioned the New Order split so i suppose because it was me sayin it it was out at last. im relieved really hated carryin on as normal with an awful secret so lets move on shall we?"

We at NewOrderOnline.com offers our best wishes to Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Gillian Gilbert, Stephen Morris and Phil Cunningham for the future.

Expect the Control soundtrack soon, as well as Joy Division remastered CDs, but after that, nothing is planned, we can only one the songs left from the Waiting For The Sirens Call sessions will see the light of day.

Lustral - Deeper Darker Secrets
Label: Baroque Records | Release Date: Monday, May 28, 2007

Lustral - Deeper Darker Secrets
Lustral's 'Everytime' is perhaps one of the defining tracks of the progressive house movement,Which prove that progressive style is still the up front of dance culture in UK / EURO / SOME OF NORTH AMERICAN
Baroque Records have pulled off a bit of magic and not only signed Lustral to put out this first long player from one of the scene's most respected dance outfits, but also pulled together a collection of remixes from some of the hottest producers right now!

Ricky Simmonds and Stephen Jones form the backbone of Lustral. Together, they have also been the driving force behind major acts such as – The Space Brothers, Ascension, Essence, The Realm, Force Majeure and Chakra. Their releases have featured on hundreds of the biggest selling compilations worldwide and their classic hit, 'Everytime' stands proud as one of the biggest dance records of the last decade.

Collaborating with Aidan Love, who has previously collaborated with the likes of Nellee Hooper, Gwen Stefani, Dave Stewart and Mary J. Blige, they have produced, what they regard as, their favourite music to date. Consisting of 18 mixes over 2 discs, 'Deeper Darker Secrets' includes intepretations from house legend Ralph Rosario, Flash Brothers, Funkagenda, D-Nox & Beckers, Oliver Moldan, and Dousk, amongst others.

Following the release of this remix album, Lustral's parallel album - 'Deepest Darkest Secrets' will be available through online and offline stores across the planet. A single entitled 'Many Years From Now' is already available, and two sampler EPs for 'Deeper Darker Secrets' featuring a selection of some of the tracks from the remix album will also be released around the same time as the album.

Chris Fortier - As Long As The Moment Exists
Label: EQ Grey | Release Date: Monday, June 11, 2007

Chris Fortier - As Long As The Moment Exists

After a long list of accomplishments that has seen him do nearly everything possible in dance music, Chris conquers the final personal goal of an artist album of his own material. This comes straight from the heart and sees the man spread his wings to become a true artist beyond his fame as a DJ.

The Album took all of 2006 to complete, and all tracks have been tweaked and sublimely edited to ensure the best possible sonic journey into deep sounds. 'As Long as the Moment Exists' explores underground sounds and electronic influences, with an experimental twist. At a glance the excursion starts with ambient sound-scapes before shifting to mid-tempo territory and quirky electronic cuts with searing minimalistic dips through dubby tech house and twisted melodic trips, before winding things back with chilled out vibes to round off an accomplished foray into electronica.

As a producer, Chris Fortier has released over 40 original productions, and remixed countless more. Most notably in 1998, scoring an international dance hit with his original reworking of Delerium's 'Silence'. His remix discography reads like a who's who of dance music at any one time, while his Fade label continues to be regarded as one of the most respected and consistent dance labels in the USA. To those that know Fortier's history, they know to expect plenty more to come, for those that are just getting initiated... Welcome!

Under his 40oz production guise, Chris has released the 'Downlow'd EP', a 4 tracker that musically could fit comfortably on labels such as Cocoon, Warp, Border Community or Kompakt. Further remixes of Chk, Chk, Chk (!!!), Alexi Delano, Chris Udoh, and Freaky Chakra show Chris' genre defying sound at it's underground best. That is why his releases are supported by a massive cross section of DJs from Laurent Garnier, Alexkid, Josh Wink, James Holden and DJ Three through to Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Jimmy Van M and Anthony Pappa, just to name a few...

It is artists such as Chris Fortier who are inextricably linked to the underground dance music scene that are the genuinely pushing the sound forward. Chris' determination to continue to push the envelope can be seen in all aspects of his career. Proof of this can be found on his recent triple CD compilation 'Balance 007' also released on EQ Recordings. The Balance 007 CD genuinely offers something exciting and underground to the current stale compilation market. Boasting tracks from across the musical spectrum like David Gilmore Girls, Global Communication and Floppy Sounds through to Slam, Matthew Jonson, Rabbit in the Moon and Bent. It is little wonder the CD was name checked for compilation of the year by numerous international dance publications.

While many people may claim to know Chris' sound, with their focus on continually labelling him one thing or another, Chris is equally as focused on his efforts to push back the musical boundaries. It is testament to the man, that he continues to develop his sound and musical direction.

"I Just like to play good underground music, full stop." - Chris Fortier

'As Long As The Moment Exists' by Chris Fortier is another foray into the mind-bending realm of electronic music provided by EQ Recordings. Enjoy!

Slam - Human Response
Label: Soma Records | Release Date: Monday, June 25, 2007

Slam - Human Response

Following on from the well received single 'Azure' from earlier this year, Slam are set to return with their fourth studio album 'Human Response'.

Not content to stand still, this album sees Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle pick up the techno baton, twisting the genre even further still, to create a forward-thinking new sound all of their own. These are artists at their creative peak. In this technological age Slam utilise the human touch to inject a myriad of emotions into their electronic machine music. The end result is much more than a collection of tracks. 'Human Response' flows and grows and, in an era of single track downloads, Slam provide an album that can be listened to from start to finish.

'Human Response' is a "back to basics" long player, returning to the deep electronic sounds and techno their earliest albums championed.

In addition to lead single 'Azure' and the new second AA single, featuring the My Robot Friend collaboration 'No One Left To Follow' and the tripped out sounds of 'We're Not Here', the album also features a new version of 'Looking North', an album teaser first released on Soma's 200th release, and a new track with long time Slam collaborator Dot Allison, to name but a few.

Slam respond to what they see around them, releasing an album brimming with emotion and honesty, uplifting and beautiful electronic music, with that moody Slam undercurrent. The end result is a soundtrack for now and for the future.
