about ATFC
http://www.myspace.com/thefunkichile
http://www.onephatdeeva.com/

2008 had been a big year for ATFC. Returning to Defected Records he has featured heavily on both the release and events areas of the business. With 3 dates at the flagship Defected In the House events at Pacha, Ibiza in the bag and countless other dates across the world, he has never been busier behind the CDJ's, while on the production side things have been even more frenetic. His remixes of Funkerman's 'Speed Up' and Danny Clark and Jay Benham's 'Wondrous' took the tracks to a whole new level of success, while forthcoming self-penned tracks 'Juss a Beat', 'Praise the the JB's', 'Give Me Luv' and 'Tell U Y' are adding to his already extensive dancefloor-destroying repertoire.

ATFC said goodbye to 2007 in style. His recent remix of Dubfire's 'Roadkill' was described as 'verging on genius' by Pete Tong. 'Ya Killin Me' was currently being sought out by all the major players in the house world, and he'd just signed exciting single and album deals with 2 of the most respected labels around. His recent dj tour was a huge success with the highlight being the Summerdayze Festival In Australia playing to a crowd of over 20,000 strong.

Having just mixed the Defected Miami album, in 2008 you'll see ATFC appearing on both Defected and Toolroom Records, proving that, if nothing else, the man's more versatile than he looks! For his own labels, Onephatdeeva and Onephatdeepa, he'll be concentrating on releasing underground tunes from new & upcoming artists. Released as download only this will enable the label to continue to thrive and achieve what is was set up to do: release music that otherwise wouldn't be heard. It's well known that ATFC has had three UK top forty hits, played at some of the biggest festivals and clubs around the world during his 18 years as a producer and dj and remixed some the best known music artists, like Moby, Missy Elliot, P Diddy and Fat Boy Slim. Described by DJ Magazine "as one the top .... producers in the world of straight down the line, mainroom house music' he is one of the industries most exciting and consistent artists.

about JAMES ZABIELA
http://www.jameszabiela.com
http://www.myspace.com/jameszabiela

Knowing what a great track should sound like - and the place it can be taken by warping and twisting it - is James Zabiela's forte. Layering different sounds with the aid of two Pioneer CDJ-1000s, a Pioneer EFX-1000, Korg Kaossilator, MIDI controller and a laptop, his hands and ears don't let up for a second, leaving any punters feet a-moving and mouth a-gap. Zabiela's demands for such a kit wherever he spins is a reminder that he's one of the scant few DJs who's pushing things forward in '09. James' style is trippy, bleepy and deeply - nay, downright - groovy. Oh, and watch out for a few gnarly basslines along the way, those nasty, dirty sounds are a part of JZ's signature now. Scratches, loops, and fluttering chord changes are all par for the course in a Zabiela set.

No wonder childhood idols Depeche Mode remain his heroes - like fellow tech-house don Mathew Bushwacka!, they all understand that the best electronic music moves both heart and feet. And if the magic's there, the spirit will fly as well. "Entertainment and education are the key," nods James sagely. "It's all about finding the balance. People have paid good money to have a party but you still need a balance." Which is why his effects unit is so crucial to his performance. "Anyone can mix two records to a degree," he grins, while still admitting to the odd bout of nervousness during radio interviews if not behind the decks. "But I'm a hundred times more confident than I used to be. DJing has definitely helped my confidence as a person." Watching him play, it's easy to forget that making things look easy takes time to perfect. Zabiela's crossed a few bridges - and a few national boundaries - along the way. "I haven't worked it all out yet," he adds. "But I do wish I could grow an extra arm sometimes!"

James' career so far has been stratospheric to say the least. Swiftly snapped up by Sasha's Excession agency, he spent the next year taking on Eastern Europe, Australia, South America and the US of A, while still finding time to record well-received CDs for Renaissance and unleash a string of fine remixes along the way. Royksopp, Ladytron and progressive artists Spooky have all been under the Zabiela scalpel - and more are on their way. Pushing the envelope while still learning to cope with a real-life fan base and life on the other side of the record counter, it's unlikely that James Zabiela will be taking a breather anytime soon. There are further late niteries like Tribal Sessions and Matter to entertain and regular slots in Romania and Budapest to attend to. On a recent trip to Argentina he played a five-hour set in front of 6,500 screaming punters at Moonpark in Buenos Aires. No wonder Sasha refers to James as the guv'nor, This is still just the beginning.

Menurut gw set nya gokil, menyesuaikan tempat. Tapi tetep dengan style dia.

Germany; Minimal, Tech, Deep House all corroborate in one name "Dixon"

Beside, kita emang ngga punya club proper buat DJ yg kaya gitu, mungkin tunggo MOS buka atau ada yg neakat buat FABRIC. gosh........

Over all, he's a nice guy.

Cheers,

set-nya dixon cukup deep with big basslines, tapi tetep dgn true character-nya dia...
tapi iya nih, dixon cocok banget ya kalo MOS sdh buka

Bener mas Bon, tapi sampe sekarang mau DJ mau VJ mau Live Set yg dibawa ke sini mentok cuman perform doang. Jadinya dapet ilmu, pencerahan dan technical skill juga gak terlalu nih. Gak ada yg tertarik buat bawa talent2 itu buat workshop atau bikin karya bareng sama talent lokal yah?

good idea. boleh juga tuh...

Dulu, waktu gw masih ngedengerin musik non-dance (a.k.a. music with guitars), rasanya cuma bisa mimpi untuk nonton band2 luar favorit. Tapi sejak 2-3 taun terakhir ini gw denger EDM, wowowowow, DJ-DJ favorit gantian dateng ke sini, mpe banyak yg kelewat gara2 ga punya duit ongkos Bandung-Jakarta. Glad to be a dance music lover  *tepuktangan*

From Resident Advisor: "Top 100 DJs of 2008"

Ranked 08. Dixon

Steffen Berkhahn, or Dixon as you most probably know him, has come a long way since helping found the Innervisions imprint in 2005. Sure, he's been DJing for over 15 years now, but the worldwide success of the label has brought him legions of new fans that have cottoned on to his smooth deep house grooves. His access to a raft of unreleased Innervisions material certainly helps his cause—his DJ gigs are one of the only places that you'll get to hear Henrik Schwarz's sublime reworks of Omar and Bill Withers.

THE SHAPESHIFTERS
http://www.myspace.com/theshapeshifters

The Shapeshifters are Simon Marlin and Max Reich. Party people at heart! In 2008 they found a new home at Defected Records, leaving Positiva after 4 years.

Since joining Defected they have already made their mark at the world's leading house music label. Their last two productions, 'Treadstone', a techy but uplifting track, and a re-work of Orbital's classic 'Chime' track have excited the duo's existing admirers and found them new champions worldwide. Stripping away the live sounds and layering fewer elements has left The Shapeshifters feeling reinvigorated about their sound. Their critically acclaimed 'The Shapeshifters - 'In the House'' DJ mix compilation was another success in an already impressive portfolio.

Aside from 3 top 10 hit records ('Lola's Theme', 'Back To Basics' and 'Incredible'), a BRIT Award nomination, a bucket full of remixes and productions for the likes of George Michael, Faithless, Candi Staton, Frankie Knuckles, Christina Aguilera and Moby, the pair show no sign of slowing down. In fact it is the opposite; they had the best selling house cut on Beatport in 2008 ('Lola's Theme (08 Re-Edit)') and have just delivered remixes for hottest band on the planet Empire Of The Sun ('We Are The People') and mixed Kleerup feat. Titiyo ('Longing For Lullabies') - both records that are sure to be making a big splash in the fast approaching Ibiza season and beyond. The Shapeshifters are currently working on new material for Defected which is set for release in Spring 2009.

about JOEY NEGRO
aka JAKATTA
http://www.joeynegro.com
http://www.myspace.com/jakatta
http://www.myspace.com/djjoeynegro

He made disco cool when they said "Disco is dead" and is widely regarded as one of the founding faces of the UK garage and house music scene. 15 years on, and JOEY NEGRO aka DAVE LEE aka JAKATTA aka SUNBURST BAND aka RAVEN MAIZE is still at the forefront of the global music scene, but still isn't committing himself to just one name.

Universally acknowledge as the MASTER of all things DANCE-FLOOR, Joey Negro was one of the first to sample disco music and was largely responsible for the birth of Disco House. He has worked with a GALAXY OF Huge STARS from Lionel Ritchie, Mariah Carey to Seal and his own productions have been used to promote everything from xes in The City, Chanel perfume to Euro 2004.

A hugely respected PRODUCER and REMIXER first and foremost, as a DJ he strives to reflect his extensive love of a massive variety of quality music by playing the kind of eclectic and mind-blowing sets which showcase the many edits and updates of old tracks he's become famous for. The real skill of Joey Negro though, lies in his ability to make these tracks mix in seamlessly and stand alongside the very freshest cuts in his box, making him a favourite at Festivals worldwide.

Not content with being the most commercially successful house producer in the UK (this is the man who has had more TOP 10 HITS than any other UK house producer after all), compiling and mixing endless successful compilations and running the heavyweight successful house label Z RECORDS, Joey Negro continues to play out all over the world and make records, simply because he enjoys it.
