With VRM Box, you can mix in your studio, wherever you are. Pocket sized and built to last, VRM Box places Focusrite's proven and patent-pending VRM – Virtual Reference Monitoring – technology in a robust, palm-sized audio interface.

VRM overcomes the major obstacle for mixing with headphones by giving you multiple perspectives on your mix, as if you were listening through speakers. Indeed, noise levels from mixing through speakers can make it impossible for most to mix at home, especially late at night; with VRM, you can mix any time, anywhere. Using any pair of monitoring headphones, VRM lets you choose your mixing environment from a living room, a bedroom studio, or a professional studio. You then simply choose from a list of industry-standard studio monitors and speakers

VRM Box delivers audio quality worthy of your headphones. Boasting a dynamic range of 108dB, it provides a sound that's more precise, with lower distortion, than other low-cost audio interfaces, and far superior to built-in laptop headphone outputs.

VRM Box functions as a high-quality 24- bit/48kHz USB audio playback interface. So, whether you're mixing, creating music or simply listening to tracks, VRM Box is perfect. Is this just another gimmick?
Definitely NOT! It mimics the room environment of a bedroom, living room, professional studio with a variety of different speakers/monitors. If there are flaws with your mix, it will easily point it out.

Is this also a Headphone Amplifier?
Yes, it indeed is also a Headphone Amplifier, and offers tremendous value ONLY as a headphone amplifier, without it's Virtual Referencing capabilities/software.

Do these honestly reflect the speakers it says it does?
Yes, they actually do. They have an agreement with those speaker manufacturers, and as reviewed by many - the Virtual Speakers do sound like the actual ones.

Do I need a good pair of headphones for this?
Yes you do, because the VRM doesn't adjust to your headphones. We would recommend using professional monitoring headphones such as:
- Sennheiser HD25 MK2
- Sony MDR7506
- Sony MDR7509
- Pioneer HDJ-2000
- Ultrasone DJ1 Pro
- KRK KNS8400

At the end you would be saving a lot of money for professional monitors when using this setup.

Are these just for producers?
No, even DJs who would want to know how a track would sound in a club would really appreciate the value of this product. There are a lot of times when DJs hear tracks on their headphones at home and then play it out on a large soundsystem at a club only to be shocked to hear that those tracks they preview on their headphones sound so much larger on a huge soundsystem.

DJs who create mixtapes would love this product as it allows them to listen to their mixes on different virtual speakers/rooms without having the hassle to burn their mixtapes on a CD and trying it out on different speakers/monitors.

Mixing Tracks & FX

Mixing tracks
ITCH can beat sync two tracks so they are in perfect time. Or, you can beat match them manually with the Touchstrips, swiping the track backwards and forwards – just like grabbing and moving it on a touchscreen. You can also use them to speed-up or slow down the track as if you were nudging forwards or backwards.

Mixer with Fader FX
TWITCH operates in a similar way to a conventional DJ mixer. Its layout includes typical DJ mixer controls: channel faders, tone controls, trim, and a cross-fader. TWITCH also gives you total control of ITCH's on-board FX. However, you can also assign FX to both Decks' faders, as well as rotary knobs in the FX section. This enables the kind of quick-fingered FX trickery that can only be pulled off with fader movements.


Slice-up your tracks

'Performance Modes' let you get hands-on with ITCH's most powerful tools.  The 'Slicer Mode' on TWITCH uses ITCH's powerful 'Beatgrids' system to chop sections of your track into eight equal slices. You can then re-arrange these on the fly without falling out of time, creating totally new grooves.

In Hot Cues mode you can set 8 cue-points and re-start the track at any of those points, allowing you to jump around your track at the touch of a button.
The 8-button grid can also be used to trigger loops of different lengths using Autoloop & Loop Roll modes. Autoloops can be saved with the track so you can rehearse routines and load them on stage.

TWITCH is designed for performing, so we made it tough and compact enough to carry from gig to gig. It has an aluminium top panel and is small enough to be carried with your laptop. Its modest size means it will slot into tight spaces in DJ booths and on stage.

There is also a microphone input for vocalists or MCs which you can run through the effects in ITCH.

Other DJ Software

TWITCH comes with Serato's powerful ITCH DJ software, but it is also a standard MIDI controller and audio interface that works with all major DJ software including Traktor and Ableton Live.

Ableton Live
- As MIDI controller, TWITCH will map to Ableton Live so you can launch clips, control devices, channel levels, crossfader and more. It also has a built in audio interface making it the perfect compact Ableton DJ controller.
- Novation has created an application that allows users to set up and use the TWITCH to control parameters in  Ableton Live (and any other MIDI compatible DJ software).
- The purpose of this software is to receive 'raw' MIDI messages generated by the TWITCH hardware and 'translate' them into MIDI messages that can be learned to parameters in Ableton Live.

Traktor PRO
Powerful 2 and 4 deck mappings for Traktor PRO can be downloaded here. All the controls you need to perform have been mapped to the Touchstrips, knobs, faders and buttons on TWITCH. A free Traktor PRO overlay is included in the TWITCH box which labels what each control does. Simply place it on TWITCH to transform it into a Traktor controller with a difference.
