two step = uk's garage
dubstep = uk's rnb???

And yeah.. a lot of the new Joker stuff, and stuff on L2S and Tectonic is being labelled as "Neo-RnB" or "Nu-Skool RnB"... so you can definitely make that connection with a lot of the newer, more mellow vibes. Look up Deadboy, for example. Also Starkey's recent works.. particularly his "Street Bass Vol. 2"..

kalau UK hiphop tuh lebih garage sih..

Now, you're thinking of Grime. UKHH is still very much Hip-Hop. Big difference between P Money / Wiley (for example) and Jehst, or Karl Hinds / Roots Manuva.

@DTX: All good, fam. That Heist thing's killer. So is the new Autonomic stuff.. Skream's 180bpm Halfstep is ridiculous. Love what's happening with the scene right now.

24/7 Presents

PROPER
2 Step - Dubstep - Future Garage

FRIDAY 23rd April @ 1030pm

PROPER FINALLY HITS THE WEEKEND WITH AN ABSOLUTE SMASHER!!!

Special Guest DJ from VIETNAM
DJ JASE (The Beats)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jase taught himself the art of DJ'ing in 2001, when he bought his Technics 1200s whilst living in Sydney, Australia. House was his first genre of choice but as Jase progressed, he found House's beat was too simple so the next genre was Nu Skool Breaks due to its popularity at that time in Sydney. He slowly moved toward Drum and Bass, Hiphop and Reggae after he co-founded the infamous Sydney's DNB promotional crew "Foreigndub" which made numerous successful parties bringing international DJs including DJ Marky and Stamina MC, Big Bud, DJ Patife & MC Cleveland Watkiss, Kenny Ken and many more.

In 2007, Jase returned to his hometown Ho Chi Minh, and started The Beats, which focuses on promoting beat based music and bringing international DJs to town, he also co-founded Saigon Rockers with parties such as Reggae Sunday.

Hot on the heels of his recent gig at Mutant Dub in Singapore on Saturday 10th April, Jase will be making his first appearance in Indonesia at PROPER to drop some bass-heavy Dubstep shakers!! Don't miss this!

7/24 sama 24/7 sama apa beda nih bro???

Completely different.. 7/24 is house.. DJ Purple, etc..

24/7 is Dubstep.. I know it's similar, but luckily Indonesians put the numbers the other way round...hahaha.

24/7 is an old skool ting that goes back to the days of Jungle/Drum n Bass.. especially in London. "24/7 Junglist" etc.. so now we changed it to "24/7 Dubstep Culture" to make an E.O for dubstep. Hope that's clear.. Cos we ain't playing house!! LOL.

It was more a tribute thing to our drum n bass roots, than anything else.

And I just wanna say THANKYOU to everyone that came down, it was wicked!! Really looking forward to February, with a whole new lineup!!

@Sixteen: You're more than welcome, was an awesome set.. and I can't wait to have you back behind the decks.. ;)

yea, man. enough with the wobble ;D

Innit.. as we enter 2010.. Dubstep's a whole new, more intelligent beast. If you haven't come down to PROPER yet, please have a look as we're at 365 Kemang every month! That's the best way to work out where the scene is headed...

And if you have been down, thanks for the support!! The last event was great!

Think you coined it there, Niang... the whole reason I like Dubstep is because it is more dynamic than ANY OTHER GENRE right now.. it is changing and evolving on an almost daily basis..

And that's really something that I hope folks here will catch onto.. you can't sleep on it.. or before you know it..it's altogether a different animal.

Big ups the scene in general, whichever way it's headed.

Actually... if you look at what's popular where:

UK: Really love "Future Garage" tunes... Skream, Joy Orbison, Luke Envoy, Planas, Untold etc.

USA: Still love wobble!! Caspa, Rusko, Emalkay, Borgore etc.

But as we get into 2010 it may even be that we'll see US producers making wobble, and UK producers making future garage. It's getting almost like that now, anyways.

Wobble was certainly fun while it lasted.. but doesn't have longevity. The term "Brostep" was invented to describe this sound.. as it was music purely for the BRO's.. ie: there's nothing in there for the ladies..  ;D

Future Garage and the Dubstep you'll be hearing in 2010 definitely has plenty that the girls can get down to... and about time.  *bgs*
