Menurut gue lagu cuma gue bisa lihat dari sisi "FUN" or "NO FUN"
At the end of the day it's all about having fun.

It's been fun for me untuk mainin some Dutch House tracks di set gue. Dan gue akuin juga sama seperti semua genre yang lain, Dutch House ada yang quality ada yg jelek juga. Dan memang borderline banget antara quality Dutch House & Dutch House yg jelek. Jadi tinggal pinter2 nyari lagunya aja. Mungkin Master Caine lebih sering denger yang jelek2 aja. Coba kemaren dateng pas Oliver Twizt main di X2. Perhaps we can share a some "FUN" moments while we dance to his tracks

Kayaknya sekarang lagi ada fenomena untuk DJ2 berebutan untuk dibilang sebagai Techno DJ.
Banyak yang deserve to be called Techno DJ & a good ones as well
Tapi banyak juga yang hanya jadi wannabe.

Definisinya apa sih supaya bisa di bilang Techno DJ?

Apakah karena once in a while elo mainin beberapa lagu techno terus lo bisa menyandang label Techno DJ.
Atau karena elo mainin Tech House lo bisa juga di bilang Techno DJ? Ini juga yang bikin gue bingung, menurut gue Tech House itu sub-genre dari house bukan Techno. Sama contohnya kayak Tech Trance itu sub genre-nya Trance bukan Techno. Gitu kan?
Atau yang paling extreme nih...karena di luar Techno lagi hits bgt, so everybody is trying to be called Techno DJ. Padahal setiap main paling cuma mainin sebagian lagu2 Techno aja. Kayak fenomena Electro 3 - 4 thn yg lalu.

I have nothing against Techno, in fact I play some Techno tracks too depending on my sets. But I would never call myself a techno DJ. Bagi gue genre itu gelar yang berat untuk di pertanggung jawabkan. Elo harus me-represent genre itu dengan total supaya bisa di bilang sebagai DJ suatu genre. Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Sven Vath, Valentino Kanzyani etc you can definitely call them Techno...karena dari sound mereka aja udah kelihatan it is Techno thru & thru.

Sekali lagi ini bukan maksud gue untuk menjelek2kan genre techno. I love techno as much as I love good music
Tapi hanya untuk memperjelas fenomena yang menurut gue mulai sedikit menyimpang.

Here's a quick look at Sean Tyas profile. He will be performing at Reverberation 2009 - Spinach 6th Anniversary at Double Six Bali & X2 Jakarta:

Sean Tyas, a New York native, now residing in Switzerland, brings to the dancefloor a mix of melodic harmony and driving groove that is sure to be just as effective on the legs as it is on the heart.

He got his start in 1999 with his first set of Tech-12s and started to learn how to mix music, but just for fun on the side and a good excuse to buy dance records. But for him, this was not enough. In the coming couple of years, he put together a studio and began producing records as well. By the age of twenty six, he has already remixed artists such as Christina Aguilera, Pink, Moby, Daniel Bedingfield, Christina Milian, and PPK. During this time he got his start into professional DJing with clubs in NYC such as Shelter and Exit.

Moving to Europe proved to be a great move for Sean, doing all production for DJ Beam in Germany and building his experience as a studio producer. Eventually Sean decided to step away, concentrated much more on his own productions and remixes. "Mirella" was the product of this exodus, as it was promptly signed to Afterglow Recordings, seeing John Askew and Dave Joy remixes. This led to a follow-up remix of Duderstadt - Muhanjala, which has seen almost every playlist of any trance DJ this year, including Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk.

Sean's remix of Beam - "On your Mind" proved to be another HUGE club smash. Caned CONSTANTLY by the likes of Paul van Dyk, John O'Callaghan, & Armin van Buuren, this remix essentially locked Sean in as one of 2006's more endeared talents in the genre.

The hype on his first Discover single "Lift", was even more amplified by Sean's winning of the Sander van Doorn - Punk'd Remix Competition, beating out over 250 other remixes. The following year and a half up until now, Sean has quickly been solidifying his place in the trance music genre with relentless remixes and productions.

On the DJ side of things, Sean has hit the ground at a running pace, and by now in 2008 he has already played in over 30 countries spread across 5 continents. As 2009 comes around, Sean will now be getting back to the studio to focus on his original productions, and develop more as a production artist.

Lagi pula gue juga masih sering main anthem kok tapi jauh dipersedikit. Jadi gak boring.
