Mungkin di sini dulu wadah untuk producer lokal.. Gimana pun juga di sini saya makin banyak dapat ilmu. Buat Javabass mungkin demonya ngga usah jauh2 ke UK dulu kali. Mungkin di level south east Asia masih bisa sangatr diterima...

yah masalahnya emang untuk label DnB 95% msh dikuasai UK, event producer2x dr US pun releasenya banyak di UK, jadi mau nggak mau harus coba kesana kalo emang mau di anggep.
untuk asia kita di javabass udh release 2 lagu dari Random & Celcius di sebuah label di bangkok, tp lumayan enak karena si label yg doing their own mastering with proper mastering studio di sana...
sementara ini sih kta msh konsen untuk release di Indonesia....at least buat crowd DnB sini udh bisa dengerin lagu2 lokal...dan ternyata cukup banyak yg suka...apalgi rmx aku cinta jkartanya random.....selalu di nyanyikan bersama kalo di pasang hehehe...

kl gw biasanya mixing sambil bikin lagunya.  jadi ya memang jadinya lama  tapi bener2 semua sesuai dengan yang lo mau denger.  senjata yang paling penting buat gw adalah EQ, Compresor dan stereo spreader. Kalo lo kerja seperti ini, setelah kelar, tinggal bounce sambil di add adaptive limiter (kalo pake logic)...   and kalo abis itu ga puas.... ya reset semua fader ke 0 dan mulai mixing lagi.. start dari kick, snare, percussion, bass... baru setelah itu semuanya disesuaikan dengan yang disebut diatas.

p.s. EQ itu penting karena kita harus pastikan bahwa frequency itu ada tempatnya masing masing...  contoh  snare kita mau peak di 200 hz.. jadi semua yang dibawah itu di cut supaya ga tabrakan dengan peak dari kick drum yang mungkin untuk track ini mau peak di 80 hz..   ya semua trial and error..

oh satu lagi yang penting.... get a good spectrum analyzer dan dipasang di channel2 yang penting sepeti kick, snare, lead, bass dll... dari situ kita bisa liat apakah ada frequency yang tabrakan ato engga.

kenapa kalo udah pake compressor harus di lmiter lagi ? (setahu gw : compressor adalah alat yang membatasi dynamic range batas atas & batas bawah, sedangkan limiter hanya membatasi batas aja  jd kenapa kalo udah pake compressor harus di lmiter lagi ? tulung jelasin ya Oooommm

mungkin ada yang lupa bahwa speaker monitor kudu mantabs & bener2 spekaer monitor di studio (kayak : Genelec) bahkan kalo bnyk duitya kita punya beberapa spekaer monitor studio dari beberapa merk/karekteristik  & jangan lupa akustik ruangan berpengaruh buanget . Paling mantap mastering yaa pake hardware kayak om romy

meskipun sama2 buat nge limit signal.. kalo limiter its is a compressor with a higher ratio, and generally a fast attack time... is very common for mastering .. to long to mentions..

sekedar tips mastering:
-kerjain pas telinga masih fresh, bisa pas bangun pagi ato bangun sore yg tidurnya siang. 
-usahain pake speaker bagus dan familiar ama kuping kamu 
-dengerin dulu -karakter sound yg pingin diuber, bisa ambil track yg menurut lo asik.dengerin berulang2.
-buka track referensi dan track yg bakalan di mastering
-mute track referensi dan mulai mastering sambil sekali2 buka referensi buat perbandingan.
-kalo gw sih mastering biasanya ngejar color sound dulu, biasa pake multiband compressor gitchu.setelah color sound nya gw rasa nggatheng baru gw optimalin gainnya.
-gak usah maksain diri.kalo kuping udah agak bebel gak tau ini udah asik apa belom mending istirahat dulu sambil ngrokok2 ato apa lah.kl udh fresh baru hajar lagi.
-kl bisa sih bawa temen, entah itu dj, produser clubber handal ato apa lah.soalnya kuping sendiri kadang gak obyektif.
-kalo udah ok burn ke cd dan cobain puter di tempat2 lain, dan bandingin dgn cd lain.kalo udah asik ya brarti udah sip.

ya kata lain soundsnya udah ganteng yo.. he he

Kalo di Waves compressor nya macem2.. yg gue suka Reinassance Compressor .. kalo Limiter L2 ato L3

Hi rom....
gw setuju ama loe. memang bikin proper masterd track tuh rada ribet, pengalaman kita di javabass sbnarnya anak2x udah lumayan sering kirim demo ke label2x di luar ( UK) tapi sering di jawab bahwa lagunya sih udah OK tp mixingan belom memenuhi standart...jadinya ditolak

event untuk lafayette rmx , gw aja belom puas2x padahal udh gw mixdown ulang ampe 3 X, ternyata kemaren pas di coba di party reload, suaranya msh belom OK. Untuk secara teori sih udah coba ngikutin yg ada di tutorial2x baik majalah atw online tapi ya namanya mash belajar jadi pastilah ada salahnya. selama ini emang gw selalu ngetes hasil mix di party2x kita biar sekalian ketahuan di soundsystem gede, tp mungkin krn project bulan puasa jd blm sempet di tes di parrty.  Baru malem minggu kemaren deh ketahuan jeleknya hehehe..

kalo gw lihat emang masalah monitor dan ruangan yg proper tuh ngaruh banget. dan ini yg jadi mashl gw sekarang. jadi boleh juga tuh ngetes hasil mix laffayete di studio loe dg monitor yg lain dan proper
di tunggu deh....sementara gw akan coba mixing lagi...setelah kerjaan rada santai by kamis ini.....

Coba deh guys.. tanya Chris M.. gimana dia denger tracknya di studio gue.. take it positive ya.. Chris M think he's track is already verify as a goos balance.. tapi pas di dengerin pake digidesign / apogee pake studio monitor kedengeran tabrakan kick & basslinenya..

This for our future and is my support for you guys..
To be better producer.. get better AD/DA (converter) and good studio's monitor also premium sofware.
Fyi.. some of software there is a toys.. so u never can catch the sounds.. its look similar but is not..

Perfect mixes bisa aja gak di mastering... tapi ussualy kalo di mastering itu kyk di analog glue gitu.. jadi soundsnya solid... kalo dah perfect mixes di mastering makin mengilaa.. masteringnya gak perlu tweak up bgt.. cuma ngenakin aja..
Biasanya dilewatin preamps/eq tabung ato compressor tabung biar warm..
trus pake limiter brickwall..
