Pertanyaan anda sangat sangat fair dan memang ada banyak perdebataan soal topic gimana USB Cable bisa improve sound quality - karena sebetulnya yang ditransfer dari computer ke soundcard hanya data. Saya sendiri tidak percaya dengan hal ini sebelumnya, dan membeli kabel Oyaide d+ USB A-Class hanya karena saya mau reduce latency dari laptop ke mixer saya.

2. Since I am an industry expert on the subject of USB audio and electrical engineer with 30 years of digital interface design experience, I though I would set the record straight.

All of you that believe that no errors take place on a USB cable that is proper length (< 5m), are absolutely correct.

On the other hand, all of you that believe that USB cables cannot color the sound of streaming playback are dead wrong, in fact they do. The effect that the cable has is called dielectric absorption and dispersion. This adds jitter to the signal as it is detected at the receiver. Cables with ferrites will actually add more jitter due to limiting bandwidth of the cable, so this is not advised. Longer cables and cables with larger than normal conductor gauge will also add jitter because of skin-effect and losses. The very best sounding USB cables will be short, use Teflon/air for dielectric and use very thin conductors for the signals, properly annealed Silver being the best.

If you dont understand jitter, then you know very little about quality digital audio. Do some searches on the forums and you will learn a lot. Getting quality results from digital audio is primarily about reducing and maintaining low jitter. Second order effects are D/A quality and preamp/analog stage noise and distortion.

Those that claim jitter is a non-issue have never heard a decent digital source IMO. We are all at different levels in our audio quest, but it is good to understand the fundamentals. This way, you know what kinds of things will actually make significant improvements.

Kabel2 flat dari merk Oyaide sebetulnya yang paling low Jitter. Karena semua detil, kejelekan di lagu keluar (dia sangat jujur). Jadi berbahaya juga untuk dipakai jika source mp3nya Low quality (even though 320kbps). Minimal mp3 Beatport.

Kalau Klotz sangat forgiving, dan akan merapihkan source mp3 yang Low quality, dan juga membantu di Mids lebih aggressive, dan wide soundstage, better instrument separation.

The Xone:2D is a combination of a 9 stereo channel USB 2.0 soundcard and MIDI controller, which DJ's can combine with their existing analogue mixer to create a complete Digital DJ mixing system, perfect for integration with DJ software such as Ableton Live and Traktor DJ Studio. The 96kHz 24-bit USB 2.0 soundcard is provided with a large array of connections for easy interfacing into any DJ setup, while MIDI clocks are generated using the tap tempo button or by analysing the BPM of incoming audio, available from all input channels. One of the input channels can be switched between mic and line, while the unit is completed by a comprehensive onboard monitoring system.

The Xone:2D is a follow-up product to the acclaimed Xone:3D mixer/controller. The Xone:2D is the combination of a 4 stereo channel USB soundcard and MIDI controller, which DJ's can connect to their existing analogue mixer to integrate leading DJ software such as Ableton Live and Traktor DJ Studio, and create a complete digital DJ mixing system.

The high quality USB soundcard can operate in either of two modes – stereo channels for 3 inputs from a PC and 1 return, or 2 channels from a PC and 2 returns. A large array of connections are provided to enable easy integration into any DJ set-up, and the 2D can be directly connected to turntables, CD players or linked to an external mixer. Digital IO (optical and coaxial) is also provided.

The Xone:3D BPM counter with LED display is included, which is capable of detecting a beat in music presented on the stereo BPM input. A MIDI clock generator, which can be set using the illuminated tap tempo button or sync'd to the tempo detected by the BPM counter, is provided, and features the unique MIDI clock nudge facility of the 3D.

The MIDI controller connects via USB to a computer and also has 5-pin DIN MIDI sockets for connection to any MIDI-enabled device, and features 5 60mm linear faders, 8 detented rotary pots, 19 push buttons - 4 of which are illuminated, 5 rotary encoders with "push to switch" function, and a multi-function jog wheel with switched navigation control. All the MIDI controls can be mapped for use as navigation controls for DJ or production software.

Optional attachment brackets to mechanically link the Xone:2D to other mixers in the A&H range, and overlays relating to various software programmes including Ableton Live 6 and Traktor DJ Studio 3, are available.

The gradual rise of computer DJing raises questions about just what gear a DJ would want. Mixers were, after all, designed for working with a couple of decks, not a computer that itself can mix. Allen & Heath's solution has been to cross-breed its popular DJ mixers with MIDI control and computer audio interface functions.

If the Allen & Heath Xone:3D mixer/controller was more than you needed, it now has a sibling in the form of the Xone:2D. Like the Xone:3D, the Zone:2D integrates a computer audio interface and MIDI controller for DJ software. Unlike the Xone:3D, the 2D is smaller, has fewer controls, and evidently no mixing functions. The tradeoffs result in a much smaller, more affordable unit. The aim seems to be integrating your computer with existing mixers rather than being an all-in-one solution as with the 3D, though it might work well in compact computer setups, as well. And, of course, since it has MIDI the Xone:2D becomes a candidate for VJ gigs, as well.

What softwares can I use with the Xone 2D?
Any software which accepts MIDI controls/messages will work with the Xone 2D. Most commonly used softwares are Traktor Scratch Pro & Ableton. 

Why is the price on the Xone 2D more than double of the Xone 1D?
It's mainly because of the High Quality 18 channel soundcard Allen & Heath installed on the Xone 2D. With the soundcard you could route 4 decks to each channel on your favourite mixer and easily use the analog EQs of your mixer whilst the Xone 2D will control the FX, loops of all your 4 decks. You could also add in a Xone 1D which would make your setup similar to a Xone 3D/4D.

Evolved from the, revolutionary XONE:3D, the class-leading Xone:4D is a unique performance DJ controller that enables the seamless integration of computer-based digital media into the traditional DJ workspace.

It combines a fully featured, high specification professional analogue DJ mixer with 105 MIDI controls and a 96 kHz 24-bit, 20-channel Allen & Heath-developed USB 2.0 soundcard. MIXER

The mixer section is based on the award-winning Xone:92 and features 4 triple-input stereo channels, 3 band total kill EQ, 2 stereo effects sends, 2 VCF filters with LFO, VCA crossfader and dual-rail channel faders, DJ mic and cue monitoring system.

The assignable LFO has an editable step-filter function, encouraging creative combinations of the tempo-detecting BPM counter and tap tempo. Each MIDI fader becomes a filter cut-off frequency, enabling users to "draw" their own tempo-locked LFO waveform.

A new BPM section includes a 16-bit tempo detecting circuit, which constantly monitors the BPM and outputs a MIDI clock to help synchronize MIDI-controlled music replay software with external source program material.

Stereo FX sends can be used with external equipment Stereo FX sends can be used with external equipment such as effects units and samplers and both FX sends can be routed to the USB audio system and sent to the PC. The FX2 hardware output can be switched to act as a Main Mix record output.

How's the Sound on the Xone 4D?
Sound Quality is top-notch - Allen & Heath Quality sound. You'll experience a warm, rich, crisp, and punchy sound with wider soundstage. It takes quite a beating of sound for it to be able to distort. In short you could have all your EQs set to 5 o'clock and it still wouldn't distort.
Headphone outs are also nothing short of amazing, with very loud and hard-to-distort outputs.

Will it be confusing to play with Xone 4D with all those MIDI Controls
Yes, it will be confusing at first, but over time you'll remember each and every function.

Is it possible to use timecoded CDs/Vinyls with the Xone 4D?
Yes, it is possible. The Xone 4D is TRAKTOR SCRATCH CERTIFIED, which means you need not have an external Audio Interface like the Audio8 or Audio10 to get timecode CDs/Vinyls to work. Just connect your turntable/CD player via RCAs to the Xone 4D and you're set.

Does the Xone 4D glow in the dark?
No, it doesn't. It glows ONLY with presence of UV Light/Black Light.

What softwares can I use with the Xone 4D?
Any software which accepts MIDI controls/messages will work with the Xone 4D. Most commonly used softwares are Traktor Scratch Pro & Ableton.

Impulse is a range of professional USB/MIDI controllers. They each have a precision keyboard and a full control surface powered by a brand new version of Novation's Automap control software - Automap 4 (which makes getting hands-on with your DAW/plug-ins fast and simple). Impulse also has 8 back-lit drum pads which can warp arpeggios, roll beats and launch clips in Ableton live.


Precision keyboard and professional control surface

"Player's" keyboard
Impulse has a precision 'players' keyboard. It is semi-weighted with assignable aftertouch and has been designed to feel like an instrument rather than a computer peripheral. In addition to feeling good, it is incredibly accurate - this means it can translate musical expression (how you play the keyboard) extremely effectively. So your performance is reflected exactly by the synth or software instrument you are triggering.

Full control surface
The control surface allows you to get hands on control for your DAW and plug-ins. We have worked with all the major DAW and plug-in manufacturers to make sure that you get instant control of your mixer, transport controls and plug-in instruments and effects.

Many MIDI controllers have knobs, faders and buttons, but using them is difficult and time consuming!
Impulse (as with all Novation controllers) comes with Automap control software. This gives you instant mapping to the things you need to control, meaning you can make full use of faders, knobs and buttons on Impulse to get hands-on with your music software.

Impulse comes with Ableton Live Lite included - but if you are already an Ableton user, you will appreciate the power of this...
The 8 drum pads can be used to launch clips in Live. The three colours indicate whether a clip is loaded (yellow), playing (green), or recording (red). This makes Impulse the best keyboard for Ableton Live users without exception.

Arpeggiator Warping
Impulse has a built in Arpeggiator which enables you to play a turn any chord into an arpeggio. The drum pads take this a step further by enabling you to warp arpeggios. By switching the 8 pads in or out you can change the rhythm of the arpeggio in real time (this works brilliantly with drums!)
You can also change the speed, shape, syncopation and gate time of the arpeggio.

Beat Roll
Drum pads are great for playing drums! With Beat Roll you can hold on to the pad and create a roll - because the pads are pressure sensitive you can change the volume of the drum as it is rolling, just by pushing down on the pad. This enables some really cool performance tricks!


Automap 4 control software makes controlling your music software fast and simple

What is it?
Automap is a piece of software that comes with all Novation controllers. It makes it fast and simple to control your music software with knobs, buttons and faders. It has been used by many top musician/producers since 2006.

How can it help?
Impulse gives you control over the mixer, transport and plug-ins of all major DAWs, as well as plug-in instruments and effects that don't come with your DAW, like Native Instruments, Waves or FXpansion. Automap enables you to see instantly which knobs, faders and buttons are controlling which part of your software. It also makes it easy to quickly change what the knobs are controlling.

See what you are controlling
Automap has a software edit page that looks just like the Impulse control surface. This labels what each knob, fader and button is controlling, because with so many things in your DAW and plug-ins, it is easy to lose track of what is assigned to what. You can hide this window once you are finished with it, so you can continue making music.

Get instant control
