The name 'Tiefschwarz' is German for 'deep black', mixing Ali and
Basti's last name with a homage to deep house. Hailing from Stuttgart,
these days their signature blend of house, techno and bass-heavy
electrohouse is one of Europe's biggest draws.

"We don't have a musical background, we have a party background."

Tiefschwarz have been DJing since 1995 but they're also producers,
alongside silent partner Peter Hoff, who runs Benztown studios in
Stuttgart. Together they have remixed everyone from Fischerspooner and
Phonique to Missy Elliot and Madonna. Tiefschwarz first came to
international attention in 2004, opening up the German take on
electrohouse with their infectious remixes of Spektrum's 'Kinda New',
Phonique's 'The Red Dress' and Unit 4's 'Bodydub'. Since then they've
released three mix CDs ('Misch Masch','Timewarp' and 'Fabric 29'), all
of which blended tuneful minimal, rifftastic electrohouse and darker
edges.
In 2006 Tiefschwarz started their own label, Souvenir Music.

This year the brothers have just completed an Underworld Remix, a
Mixmag covermount mix CD, a track called 'Liquid Cherries' which is to
be exclusively released on Cocoon in Japan only and are currently
working on a single on Souvenir, expected later this year. In between
that, they will continue to DJ at their residencies at Robert Johnson
(Frankfurt), Weekend (Berlin), We Love Space & Cocoon (Ibiza) and
Fabric London as well as touring the rest of the world exhaustively as
always!

DJ Vibe started mixing at the early age of 15 years old when he got
his first ever club gig at Lisbon's Bataclan. He was also invited to
launch best Portugal Clubs ever such as Plateau, AlcantaraMar, Kremlin
and Lux Fragil and is now celebrating a 10 year residency together
with the venue. Vibe had played at some of the most important events
in the world such as Berlin Love Parade, Uk Global Gathering, Lisbon
and Madrid Rock in Rio and the summer Ibiza sessions and the most
famous clubs in the world such as Space, Pacha Ibiza, London Ministry
of Sound, New York Pacha, Tunnel, Twilo, Sound Factory to name just a
few.  The underground Sound of Lisbon's biggest record, the massive
"So Get Up", reached No.1 in dance and club charts around the world,
and his tracks were being remixed by DJs in the league of Danny
Tenaglia and Junior Vasquez and he has gained the DJ Mag's top #40
position and proudly remains on the forefront of the international
dance scene as one of the most talented Artists around. He's a Stereo
Monteal 4year resident and a regular DJ worldwide.

Thank you all for coming!
It was a great night and a good turnout considering the recent situation.
And surprisingly almost all of the key players of Jakarta's club scene came to the party.
You know who you are!

And for you trainspotters out there, these two were played, among others:
Ame's "Rej" was played around 330AM
Tracey Thorn's "It's All True" (Martin Buttrich Rmx) was played around 345AM

Thank you again!

Frank Wiedemann first met Kristian Beyer in Kristian's record shop in Karlsruhe, Germany.
As a result of this friendship, they joined forces in the studio forming the duo Âme.
Their best-known tune, "Rej", has topped the best of the year charts in German De:Bug and Groove mags and was also called "the Plastic Dreams of the new millennium" by key players Danny Krivit and Louie Vega of Masters At Work.
Âme's latest remixes for Ben Watt's Buzzin' Fly imprint or Ibadan's Jerome Sydenham again prove their diverse approaches beyond Deep House.
Some even say that  Âme has initiated the renaissance of deep house with their productions for Sonar Kollektiv and their label Innervisions.
So prepare yourself people, 'cause Âme is coming to town!

Rej was named Tune of 2006 by Deep Dish, Carl Cox, David Guetta, DJ Vibe, Pete Tong & Victor Calderone and was played by everybody from Derrick May, Laurent Garnier, Sven Väth to Lee Burridge, Sander Kleinenberg, Satoshi Tomiie, and John Digweed!

Âme's remix of Rodamaal's Insomnia was also named Tune of 2006 by none other than Steve Lawler!
