JADE – Jakarta Annual DanceMusic Event

12 Nov 2008 - The first weekend of December 2008 will see Jakarta host an unprecedented music event that encompasses a club festival and music conference.

To be held between December 3 to 7, Jakarta will be transformed to a giant festival ground for clubbers, composers, publishers, DJs, label owners and other denizens of dance music.

Presenting over several of Jakarta's best clubs, JADE will feature the diverse spectrum of dance music through Barcode, Centro, Embassy, Equinox, Public, Urban Lounge, Wonderbar, and X2.

Joining JADE on opening night on Dec 3 will be the brilliant nu-rave maestros Gildas&Masaya of Kitsune at Embassy. Other acts set to make appearances are; American legendaries  Stacey Pullen and Derrick Carter, Ton TB representing BlackHole label night, Holland's Mischa Daniels, Singapore's multiple DMC Champion DJ Inquisitive, SE Asia's reputably most hardworking DJ Aldrin, Holland's vocalist Vika Kova, Australia's top rated Wei-Shen, along with local heroes Romy, Riri, Anton, Naro, DJ Ai, Innerlight and many more.

With the theme "The Business of Music", JADE aims to educate and elevate the dance music scene through the afternoon, two-day mini conference at Grand Kemang Hotel on December 4 and 5. Raising awareness with topics ranging from making, publishing, marketing and selling music will be presented by several international and local panels. Networking opportunities, company showcases, and workshops for aspiring DJs and Emcees will also be available for the registered denizens.

I'm very sorry but due to the foiling of the terrorist plot this week Tom has cancelled this weekend.

Both the Australian and UK Embassy have advised all UK citizens to avoid travel to Jakarta and Tom wont take the risk. We are happy to refund all fees to you in full and can only apologize for the loss on your part for your hard work, but Tom has a family and the band are on a world tour and its just impossible for us to go against such stringent warnings

We are happy to do a written statement for your press people and internet campaign.

Bio

Since his debut at Manchester's Hacienda in 1987, the beginning of the Acid House explosion, Laurent Garnier has played a key role in the development of the electronic music scene. Over the last ten years he has built up his international reputation by playing at all the major clubs and festivals worldwide. During this time he has been voted best international DJ by the music press and has built up a very special relationship with his public.

Aside from his successful DJ career, Laurent has always produced his own music. The release of tracks such as 'Acid Eiffel' and 'Wake Up' served as a springboard for a new French electronic scene. Rarely before had French music been so easy to export. In effect, he became the first ambassador for French house and techno abroad, with his signature jazz-infused techno productions.

Laurent Garnier is respected by both the godfathers of techno in Detroit, with whom he has built close links, as well as by the younger generation of producers and DJs to whom he has given a taste for electronic music through his DJ sets and productions.

Gimana kalo untuk taun depan biar lebih terarah, nominasinya udah ditentuin dulu untuk masing-masing kategori oleh a select panel of people in the industry, misalnya: DJ, club representative, promoter, wakil dari website2 seperti ravelex, indodj.com, houselife, terus ada juga wakil dari clubber nya sendiri. Nah mereka nanti yang nentuin nominasi nya, dengan pemikiran yang objective tentu aja ya (misalnya DJ yg jadi anggota panel nya ngga usah ikut nentuin best DJ atau set of the year, representative dari club ngga usah ikutan nentuin club of the year dst...). Nah dari situ baru nominee nya diumumin untuk orang2 bisa voting lebih lanjut. Kalo gt kan terarah dan masing2 nominasi nya masuk ke kategori yang bener.

Setau gue semua award yang pake voting kaya gt caranya ya, kecuali tentu aja kaya DJ mag DJ of the year purely voting, karena kategori nya kan cuma 1

Just a thought aja, mudah2an bisa ngebantu supaya scene kita lebih maju

Yang bener:

Marco V sempet ada omongan main untuk anniversary Vertigo tgl 17 desember, tapi ngga jadi, padahal iklan udah keluar di Mixmag segala, akhirnya Vertigo ngmbil DJ Mischa, Misja, atau apa lah gitu.

Kalo Steve Angello, tanggal 17 main di Wonder Bar, yang bawa Original Naro.

Menurut gue set ideal seharusnya begitu, dia berhasil nahan crowd dengan set yang range nya ngga naik turun, bpm nya aja mentok 128-129 kayanya....ngga bikin capek dengernya, jadi pulangnya ngga kena nanggun. Udah gitu flow nya gila, flawless! Intelligent banget music nya, angin seger banget buat scene Jakarta.
