One of America's most talented and respected young producers Derek Howell teams up with Groovecollection Records to release a two track EP on the Originals imprint. Having had successful solo releases in the past on labels like Bedrock, Lost Language and Proton he also has a wonderful collaboration with Peter Martin as Pinkbox Special. But we're here to present a full-on Derek Howell EP for your speakers and ears.

First up is a progressive masterpiece called "Cheeky Toy". The typical Derek Howell sound is there as well as some hints from the 80's. That combination gives us a driving, but quite light-sounding at the same time, type of tune. Especially the melodic synth structure will get some memories from twenty years ago back. This could well be a favourite for both housy and progressive dj's.

"Illegal Sexual Activity" is the somewhat strange title for the second track of this EP. Much freakier than the "Cheeky Toy" track this one is sure to cause some activity on the dancefloor (whether it be illegal, sexual or both is up to you to decide). The progression in this track is absolutely great. Slow, but never without energy, this progressive bastard builds and builds. Even up to the point where electric guitars are playing in the break. That same electric guitar adds the melodic flavour people are sure to enjoy.
