feat DJ JON RUNDELL ( UK )
A DJ since '96, beginning his career at many of the UK's major dance events (including clubs such as The End, Magna and Camden Palace) and one of the original Mixmag 'Future Hero's, Jon has been a regular at some of the most exciting clubs and events of the era. Fusing almost anything including Techno, House, Breaks and pumping Progressive House, Jon's unique but diverse blend of sounds has won him many admirers globally. For a career that is just picking up pace Jon has certainly excelled having already played at many of the major dance festivals across the world including Dance Valley, Ultra Festival, Global Gathering, Sonar, Future Music and the Big Day Out festivals, as well as many of the most infamous clubs across the world.

Jons entrance into working within the electronic music scene began with working at Amato Distribution for a number of years, moving on to co-found the world famous download site - Trackitdown.net. From here Jon went on to manage Intec records for Carl Cox. It's a safe bet therefore to say that Jon understands this industry and knows good production when he hears it. It's one of Jons' own productions, 'Dirty Disco', that caught the attention of Carl who signed the release for Intec records. The track turned heads and led to a further barrage of support from Carl including further productions on the label, remix work on his artist album 'Second Sign' (which charted very highly in Americas Billboard charts) as well as support in showing the world that his talent wasn't just confined to producing tracks but to entertaining crowds from behind the decks too. Of all his virtues as both DJ and producer, Jon's greatest seems to be an innate understanding of what makes his audience tick and the uncanny ability to translate that into his stellar productions.

Having began DJing and producing tracks within the Hard Dance scene, Jon took the natural but instinct-led step into the Techno world. Over the years, Jon has been responsible for Techno releases on various labels including Intec records, Hardasfunk and Trevor Rockcliffes' Mentor Records. This EP release on Trevor Rockcliffe's Mentor label made him the first artist other than Trevor to ever appear on his label. Its Jons clever funk induced Techno that really caught the attention of many in the industry and established Jon as a true one to watch. More recently Jon has been very experimental in his sound and this has served him well – filthy basslines and wicked beats, Rundells' productions are carefully crafted to inflict maximum dance-floor damage. Major support for his productions have come from all over the electronic scene now as he's expressed himself further showing the world his ability to produce almost any kind of electronic music. Paul van Dyk, having supported Jons productions since his remix of Sebastian Legers 'Bad Clock' and 'Olskool', snapped up the very original sounding 'What is it' and 'Our Floor' on launch of his new digital imprint – Vandit Digital. Follow up releases came in the shape of the twisted Acid house sound of 'Turntable Knights' and 'Taking Time'. Recognising Jons water tight production capabilities PvD later asked Jon to remix one of his own tracks 'Detournement' for his album "Hands on Inbetween'. Jon took this remix another direction still, providing a more laid back, atmospheric track to finish the album on. 2008 has definitely been one of Jons busiest years to date production wise and most successful. Going back to his full-on looped - Techno sound, Jons slamming remix of Carnival Junkie (Adam Sheridan) – 'After Dark' has been well acclaimed and has lit many a dance floor up. Late 2008 and Jons Techno remix of 'Devilfish – Man Alive' gained the track a No1 spot in Beatports Techno chart for a massive 6 weeks and a No2 in the general chart. Forthcoming, and there's lots to look forward to including a very special release on Sander van Doorns, Doorn Records plus Jon has just been working in the studio with Carl Cox on his forthcoming artist album so there'll be tracks to watch out for from that.

Recent gig highlights show how Jon has progressed DJ wise over the last year or so. He's toured Australia twice for the Big Day Out and Future Music Festivals often playing to no less than 20,000 people, he's toured Europe extensively travelling between Ireland, Spain, France, Holland and Slovakia as well as gracing the decks at Space in Ibiza on several occasions and embarking on a solo U.S/ Canada tour, taking in no less than seven cities. 2008 saw various dates across London, including a massive set at the South West Four festival in home - town Clapham. On with 2009 and Jons year begins as the past two have with an Australia tour preceeded this year by several dates across Asia. Having been asked on several occasions to warm up for Carl Cox you can build an understanding on how Jons ability to be completely diverse in what he plays and produces has served him well. Jon has now warmed up for the likes of (amongst others) Danny Tenaglia, Fedde le Grand, Felix da Housecat, Ashley Beedle, Tiefshwarz,Loco Dice and Paul van Dyk. Each time Jon has showed an effortless ability to understand in what direction the set should be taken for the next DJ, at the same time expressing himself musically and defining what a Jon Rundell set is about – leaving even the most experienced club-goer begging for more.

Radio wise, Jons mixes have been going out to audiences worldwide with live mixes going out recently on stations including Radio1, Galaxy, FG France, Sirius, JJJ and Kiss. Jons monthly radio show, aptly named 'Dirty Disco' has been reaching out to wider audiences for some time now.
