VESTAX TR-1 MIDI CONTROLLER

The Vestax TR-1 is a MIDI controller that sits in the middle ground between the DJ styled Vestax VCI-100 and the knob heavy Vestax VCM-600. The TR-1 is a MIDI controller for those who want to make best use of their software rather than adopting a more tactile and traditional DJ experience. It appears to be aimed at 4 deck users with a shift function to change controls.

One of the more interesting products to surface out of the latest round of NAMM announcements is the Vestax TR-1, ostensibly the bigger badder brother of the existing VCM 100 controller. This thing looks like a rugged, installation quality mixer with big logical button/fader layout designed to really unleash the midi control/four deck digital sync capabilities of the new Traktor Pro interface.

With a simple flick assignment between deck A/C and B/D this unit is looking like it will be the quickest, most fluid way to control every parameter on all four Traktor decks short of buying two dedicated controllers. Built in sound card I/O like the VCM-100 means this console is going to be a serious all-in-one controller for the adventurous Traktor user.

The TR-1 is a collaboration of Vestax and DJ HIROSHI WATANABE, one of the pioneers who established laptop based DJing in Japan.This radical MIDI controller has been designed from a professional's point of view, making it compact and extremely useful when you're in the mix. Its compatibility with Traktor Pro is remarkable.

Our development team and Hiroshi Watanabe worked together for 2 and half years, creating the TR-1 with a simple, compact and logical design which has reversed the concept of existing DJ controllers.

By combining our original DJ technology and Hiroshi Watanabe's requests as much as possible, the knobs and switches have been tuned to provide the same touch of a DJ mixer, enabling the DJ to operate the controller with profession. Ready and tuned to work with your Traktor Pro.
