Vestax MW-3000 review
I was looking for a serious mixer and came across this. After asking around I decided to purchase the 3000r. This mixer had some great features. 3 line phono, 5 line stereo inputs, 1 mono mic input, built in MIDI Function, BPM counter, digital sequencer with Drum/Effect sounds (20 soundbanks/1 P-ROM), 3 band isolator +5, and a 3 band frequency LED display.

There were two models, the 3000 and the 3000r. The only difference between the 2 were, the 3000 was teal and non-rack mountable, the other (3000r) was silver and could be rack mounted. I believe the 3000 was a signature Derrick May model at one point.
The layout of this mixer is perfect, the isolation knobs for each channel locaed to each side of the crossfader. They also have a nice feel, they are over an inch in diameter and metal. There is a master level meter, and a 3 signal spectrum analyzer for PGM 1 and PGM 2. The spectrum analyzer is great for checking the levels of a record while its being cued. The rhythm generator was fun to play around with for a while, but eventually lost its amusement. The BPM counter is a tap counter and hasn't been used. The midi feature allows the digital sequencer to snyc up and control another midi device (ie: drum macine) I have only used this feature a few times, I'd probably use it more if I bought a midi fx processor. I have been using this mixer for about 5 years and everything is still solid.

The only two things I disliked about this mixer were the cuing system takes a bit of getting used to (alot of switches). The second dislike was the $1400 price tag.
