London-based DJs allegedly used stolen credit cards to buy their own music on iTunes.
The scam netted around £400,000 in royalties and boosted their chart rating.
The DJs recorded 19 compilations, put them on iTunes, then downloaded them 65,000 times on accounts set up with the stolen cards.
Yesterday nine people were arrested across London, Kent and the Midlands for conspiracy to commit fraud and money laundering after an investigation spanning London and New York.
The suspects, including three women, were held in coordinated raids involving 60 officers led by Scotland Yard's Central E-Crime Unit.
The probe began last December when iTunes' parent company Apple were warned by various credit card companies that the accounts were bogus.
Det Chief Insp Terry Wilson said: "This has been a complex investigation."
