Jawabannya bisa ya, bisa juga tidak, dan semoga tulisan ini bisa membantu untuk menentukan apakah kita perlu BlackBerry.

Sekarang ini begitu banyak pilihan handphone dari yang sekedar buat telpon dan sms-smsan saja, sampai yang canggih-canggih, dan ada juga yang menawarkan push email seperti Blackberry. Nah yang ingin dibahas disini adalah apa sih sebenarnya fungsi dari handphone Blackberry tersebut, kenapa sepertinya Hp Blackberry ini begitu spesial dan banyak dipakai oleh kalangan pebisnis di luar negeri ? Keunggulan dari Blackberry ini adalah mampu mempush email seperti layaknya sms. Semua hal yang berkaitan dengan email ditangani dengan begitu baik di hp Blackberry, tidak ada satupun handphone yang mampu menangani email seperti Blackberry. Apa sih contohnya ?

Di Blackberry kita dapat mensetup sampai 10 account email yang berbeda, bisa yahoo mail, gmail, email kantor pop3, dll. Semua dapat dengan mudah di push ke Blackberry. Kita juga tidak perlu pusing untuk menset smtp untuk mengirim email, karena sudah ditangani otomatis oleh Blackberry.

Dan email yang masuk dapat kita filter melalui control panel Blackberry service. Misalnya kita dapat memfilter email dengan dengan judul tertentu misalnya subject "orderan", maka jika ada email yang judulnya ada kata "orderan" maka email akan terfilter dan dapat kita tandai dengan bunyi tertentu dan juga email tersebut diberi warna merah dan huruf Bold sehingga mudah dilihat dan dipisahkan.
Filter tersebut juga dapat kita aplikasikan terhadap email from, misalnya email dari boss kita akan kita tandai. Tentu saja email dari boss kita tidak akan terlewatkan walaupun kita menerima ratusan bahkan ribuan email dari milis-milis yang kita ikuti. Email khusus ini di Blackberry dinamakan Message Level 1. Nah ternyata dengan Blackberry kerjaan beres dan entertaiment juga jalan terus. Sambil menyelam minum air. Dengan Blackberry kita dapat membaca dan mengirim email kapan saja dimana saja, dari pagi sampai malam, misalnya pas jam makan siang, pas lg di macet-macet di jalan, dll.

Profile di Blackberry juga paling lengkap, contohnya setiap suara dari suara sms, phone, email account yang berbeda dapat kita set suaranya sendiri sendiri. Misalnya email yahoo kita yang kita pakai buat milis suaranya kita set kecil atau silent. Email kantor kita set suaranya besar dan dgn lagu tertentu + getar. Sehingga kita sudah tahu email apa yg yang masuk hanya berdasarkan dari mendengar suaranya saja. Jika kita mengikuti milis-milis tertentu yang setiap harinya bisa ratusan email masuk, tentu saja kita tidak mau setiap detik hp kita berbunyi bukan. Fitur ini tidak ada di handphone lain kecuali hanya di Blackberry.

Di Blackberry juga bisa browsing internet, chatting dengan lebih nyaman dan cepat, karena setiap Blackberry melakukan kompresi yang katanya bisa mencapai 1:100. Jadi tidak usah khawatir jika quota dari operator over limit, walaupun hanya berkisar 100MB. Apalagi sekarang sdh ada operator yang menawarkan paket quota unlimited buat blackberry. Artinya dengan rp 200 ribu sebulan kita sudah dapat menikmati email sepuasnya, chatting sepuasnya, browsing sepuasnya. Semuanya always on dan lebih cepat, dimana saja dan kapan saja.

Kalau masalah email memang Blackberry paling lengkap, tapi apakah hanya disitu saja kemampuan dari Blackberry, ternyata tidak juga. Sebagai handphone smartphone, bBackberry juga mendukung synchronisasi addressbook ke outlook, bisa juga sebagai audio player dan video player ( kecuali old model ). support bluetooth, wifi ( 8120, 8320, 8820 ) dan juga GPS ( 8310, 8800, 8800 ), dan juga kamera ( 8300, 8310, 8320, 8100, 8120 ).

Seperti orang bilang handphone mencerminkan pemakainya. Blackberry biasanya dipakai oleh kalangan pebisnis, dan sepertinya image itu sudah sangat melekat pada Blackberry, jadi jika kita pakai Blackberry, kelihatannya kita seperti orang penting, dan sibuk ( he..he..he.............).

Konon kabarnya..
salah satu club yang dulu selalu dibilang anak-anak sebagai "rumah kedua" di bilangan selatan jakarta (ga usah sebut merek ya? ), akan berubah haluan dari club trance menjadi club RnB & hophip..
katanya sih udah di konfirmasi dan beneran..

gue sendiri sih..
yah sedih juga yah..
bener sih udah kayak "rumah kedua"..
tapi dulu..
sekarang berhubung udah agak GJ tempatnya..
ya gue pikir cuma mau di renov doang, ternyata berubah total jadi club pihpoh..
tak disangka tak dinyana..

1993-1995 - Started buying US garage and house records. Producers like Smack and MAW were the main influences. First serious forays into producing and programming.

1995/1996 - Hooked up with G-force and released experimental drum & bass track, "northern exposure" on 4 Hero's Reinforced Records, to be followed by many more releases, including the LP "just another number".

1997 - Meanwhile, his house tracks caught the ear of Phil Asher, who introduced him to Orin Waiters of Mousetrap Records. This sparked the beginning of Bugz in the Attic, now a burgeaning collective of DJ's, producers and musicians which has gone from strength to strength producing tracks, LPs and remixes for scores of quality labels.

The last few years have seen Seiji exploring new musical territories and pushing the boundaries of many styles, while producing soulful house under the name Homecookin' and twisted breaks as Opaque.

This year sees him working with other innovative musicians like Domu, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Kaidi Tatham, Daz-I-Kue and the rest of the Bugz crew, and Djing at many ot the most cutting edge clubs and festivals worldwide.

Top 100 DJs Poll 2006

DJmags Top 100 DJs is a genuine phenomenon that grows in strength every year, with 123,933 votes coming from 147 different countries in 2005! It's the only poll that matters to clubbers, promoters and DJs worldwide.

Voting is open until 25th September, so make sure everyone you know comes and makes their voice heard in support of the DJs who've rocked their world.

Results will be unveiled on 25th October at a star-studded awards party in London featuring many of the world's top ranking DJs.

Top 100 History


The first Top 100 DJs Poll open to public voting was held in 1997.

Before this, DJmag's poll was intermittent, and only people in the dance music industry contributed towards a candidate shortlist.

Back in 1997, DJmag.com didn't exist, so all votes were sent in the post.

Altogether, about 700 people voted in Top 100 DJs poll in 1997.

In 1998 we started accepting votes by email, opening up the poll to many more international voters.

The amount of votes received more than trebbled, and Paul Oakenfold was crowned people's champion for the first time.

In 1999, there were 31 new entries. Only four women made it into the whole poll.

The 2000 poll was the first time that Dutch superstar DJ Tiesto featured (at number 24).

In 2001, votes came in from 50 countries.

Over 500 DJs were nominated, and the top 25 garnered almost 60% of the vote.

In 2002, the vote was up by 20% on 2001, with 38,481 dance music fans taking part around the world.

Votes came in from 65 countries.

In 2003, there were 61,529 votes, up 50% on 2002's total.

Votes were received from 120 countries around the world.

There really was no disputing Tiesto's position in the 2004 poll.

Previously, Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox had both won the award twice, but last year Tiesto took things to a whole new level.

His 25,000 capacity stadium gigs, and his DJ set at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games to a TV audience in excess of 4.5 billion, meant no other DJ could compete.

In 2004 Tiesto was crowned No.1 for the third year in a row.

Last year after years of being in the top 10, Paul van Dyk finally reached the top spot, and claimed the crown as the No.1 DJ in the world.
