The dnhs5500 is an amazing combination of the mighty dns3500 cd deck, the incredible dnhc4500 usb / midi controller with some of stunning features of the dnhd2500 harddrive media player. With all the aforementioned being widely regarded as the most capable devices in their class, the dnhs5500 was always going to take the world by storm. A host of playback and media options mean you can use the dnhs5500 with a usb storage device, mp3 player, ipod or thanks to the implementation of a midi interface, with software. You can playback audio from wherever you want and however you want. The deck will identify audio in the form of mp3 or .wav and it features an intuitive file search interface for finding files on large drives. Custom mapping of the controllers will give the user full control over virtual decks in traktor or similar dj software. You can even fit a 2.5" modular hdd to the internal easy access caddy for storing audio and playing back audio on the unit itself, in the same vein as the dnhd2500. The internal usb audio interface offers 2 stereo outputs with 44.1khz sampling ranges and low latency asio / osx core audio support, this means you can use the unit as two decks in a single chassis. CDJ 1000 MK3 sih dah ketinggalan banget teknologinya ama Denon yang satu ini.
Kalo dibandingkan dg CDJ 400 mungkin bisa dibilang mirip, tapi butuh 2 x CDJ 400, sedangkan ini cukup satu DN HS 5500, Istilah di Denon: 2 decks in 1, jadi HEMAT DANA/BUDGET. Soal harga ga jauh beda dari CDJ 800 ato 400, dan masih lebih murah dibandingkan CDJ 1000Mk3,

Mungkin akan ada yg nanya, kalo pake CD bgmn? cd drive [adapter] dijual terpisah.
Kalo gw sih rada males juga harus Burn CD, karena cukup bawa USB thumb 2-4gb yg sudah muat lebih dari 200 lagu, atau gunakan Hard Disk external sampai 250GB juga ga masalah. IPOD apalagi, khusus untuk IPOD ada catatan, karena nama file di dalam mesin IPOD itu berbeda, saya lupa istilahnya utk yg ini.
Kelebihan lainnya, sentuhan turntable ga ilang karena platter Denon DNHS 5500 bisa spinning juga [ini yg ga ada di Pioneer CDJ]. Jadi yang doyan Scratch bisa diakomodasi oleh Denon, demonya juga bisa dilihat di: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmEalmH3CFk
Gw dan temen2 dah coba mainkan selama kira2 6 jam non stop, dan ga ada masalah. Kualitas suara juga ga beda dg CD, karena sdh ada sound card internal, jadi gain tidak turun
Kelemahannya menurut gw, di tombol play dan cue, masih lebih baik Pioneer untuk yg satu ini.
Secara keseluruhan buat yang mo beli CDJ Player, lebih baik mencoba dulu yang satu ini dan baru bandingkan dengan Pioneer CDJ.
Sekalian usul buat Mas Adi, tolong dong disediakan satu di Studio La Musica, biar rekan2 yang lain bisa coba......

PRODUCT REVIEW
The Dns3700 is Denon's contender for the industry standard cd turntable, but with software and usb media capabilities. This incredible deck builds on Denon's cd deck innovations (including the amazing ability to crossfade between two tracks on a single cd!), whilst also incorporating all the sought after functions that are found on decks that are referred to as 'industry standard'. A revised user interface, that brings a new level of simplicity to it's operation, is complemented by a rotating 9" platter with a real vinyl disc for true turntable emulation. The platter can be switched off, and cue style adjusted to replicate that of the so-called 'industry standard'. The deck has 3 built-in effects for applying instant beat looping, flangers and filters to dj sets, without the need of a mixer or effects unit. Brake time, dump and reverse effects can also be applied to your tracks for turntablist style trickery. It has 3 revised hot-cue points, and a manual loop function that now features a loop cutter thus allowing instant chopping and cutting of loops and samples to add a stuttering excitement to your set. Hot-cue points and loop points can also be stored on the unit itself, so you can instantly re-call your creativity at will. New to the dns3700 is a waveform display that indicates dynamics of a track, allowing you to see peaks and troughs in the music, like when reading the grooves in a vinyl record. Further to that, a premium resolution on the pitch control means you can create incredibly accurate mixes with each increment on the fader represent as little as 0.02% change in pitch! Now that the Dns3700 tackles the 'market leading' decks in terms of cd playback, it excels in its performance by being capable of also playing back media from usb device. Anything you can do with Cd's can also be done to mp3s on usb harddrives, memory sticks, mp3 players etc. Access to tracks, file sorting and playlists can be arranged via the included software. And finally, the dns3700 has a built-in audio interface and midi control capabilities for use with dj software. Denon decks are often questioned about being as good as the industry standard? In this case, the dns3700 isn't...it's better, in almost every way!
